Can you guys ask about how coats your getting, being an allure spec? I was told it was a 2 coat system and I said to the SS no it should be 3 coats (allure standard is 3 coats) and he quickly corrected himself after getting annoyed at me, but it always bugged me and I wonder if they only did 2.

Did the cypress pine come pre-stained or has it already been stained? We have the same feature as you know and ours looks exactly the same as yours does now. Ours was meant to be stained in something called hynes rich cinnamon but we always thought it ended up a different colour.

For what it's worth, we had the same thing at this invoice. The definition in the contract says all troughs and tubs are in but they weren't for us.

Well good question. Yes they put noggins in everywhere. Problem was though, the drop kick who installed all the bathroom fittings across 3 bathrooms was here-and-there about whether he bothered to lookup the location of the noggins or not. He had to drill through tiles to get to the noggin and when ...

I'm not sure to be honest. We have 46 of hpm 11w 110mm lights that we are really happy with but will have to get in roof one day to check insulation. I've only just put my head in to see insulation we even there.

Since this thread is about fences, i wanted to know who gets to choose on getting the flat side of a timber fence in a new estate? My build has completed, and i am looking to get my fencing in. Contacted my neighbour (who is yet to start building) after getting details from the developer, and while...
Can you afford to pay for both sides of the fence? If so, go ahead and put the fence up and pay for their side as well....

So is it just an email with costs to make you feel bad or do is it actually a legitimate invoice? Surely building 300-500 houses a year worth an average of $300,000 they could absorb these costs.

Did you happen to check the plans as well? Be interesting to see if you have the letters OBS next to the window in question (means obscured). A few of our minor mistakes were like this, one thing in contract and something else on plans.

Yea I think my SS probably has a garden bed or letterbox at home in Selkirk Macedon wouldn't surprise me at all. Or they sent my spares to another site that was running short.

We found square set was automatically added at contract with floor-to-ceiling tiles. They don't tile to cornice. For kids bathroom the square set was $164 (not including wc1) For powder room it was $119 For the ensuite and wc2 it was $719. Note that ensuite includes master bedroom and dressing room ...

This was a sore point for us. The SS had a big whinge to us about how people (like us obviously) ask for spare bricks and then complain later on that they don't want the bricks or there too many or they are in the wrong spot etc. Other builds around us had a spare full pallet or two. I'm sure in a p...

Just prior to getting our building permit and site start we had to provide Kings a copy of the first page of our approved loan document to show that we really did have the finance to start. This was despite owning the land and signing the contacts. But if I were you and knew I likely didn't have the...

Did you have one of these vague HPM plans? Did it all work out ok? All of this: https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/68165_1496125602.JPG is meant to be together, with a bit of common sense they will realise this, but how do they know where you want it? It's spread out over about 3m. The data guy has tak...

Maybe get another downlight in your butlers. We have 2 downlights and a window and still find it quite shadowy with all the cupboards on each side. Same in our laundry which has only 1 downlight and a large glass slider.
