Hi everyone. I know of a couple of builders that offer an online portal to track the progress of your home, but a lot of people I have spoken to haven't seen anything along those lines. I am really interested to see how common this sort of thing is, so out of interest could you reply to the poll ple...

Between the unpacking, the digging, the paving and the sorting of everything, I've managed to take a few photos with furniture. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/26/cebebaefce9f3dcfa9913f8a2fc045a6.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/26/88bcd9425f8cf83f79db3455cc5f0cb3.jpg http://images.tapa...

Thanks guys. I have been extremely busy with the painting, installing downlights and power points, moving all the furniture from the storage unit into the garage (and managed to get some in the house), putting together flat pack furniture etc. Its frustrating that I now own a garage, but I still had...

Big day yesterday! The builder just managed to squeeze handover in before the new financial year. Earlier I intentionally didn't name the builder, just in case I needed to have a big whinge about them down the track. But now that I have the keys, I am happy to tell people I built with Affordable Liv...

That looks pretty amazing! Congrats on PCI! When do you think you will get your keys? Booked in for final inspection and keys on Tuesday the 30th June. Just in time for the new financial year

PCI went really well this morning. The supervisor is pushing to get things finished before he has surgery in the first week of July. Sucks for him, but works well for me. There was still some painting to be finished and the flooring had a defect so they missed a room and need to come back on Monday ...

In what appears to be an unprecedented move, the builder has moved PCI forward to Wednesday morning. In less than 36 hours I will have completed the PCI. Fingers crossed for keys before School Holidays start on the 5th July. Its a bit of a press, but hopefully the builder can at least let me in to p...

Paving and painting have been finished. I was really worried about the brown render. We initially chose it to match the roof, but then everything else was a Grey colour scheme. I'm really happy with how it turned out. The gutters are actually Grey, but look Brown with that render. http://images.tapa...

Dropped passed yesterday and the paving had been completed (well almost, should be finished today) and the house had been cleaned inside. The painters have been there today doing the gutters and fascia etc, and hopefully should finish the second coat and the render this week, providing the weatherma...

There also needs to be considerations in terms of power points. Power cannot be connected to any power point that is within spray distance of a shower head unless there is a physical barrier in place (or so I have been told by family members in the trade). In a lot of builds the power will only be c...

I just spoke with the CL. Unfortunately things aren't going to be as quick as I had hoped (I think because of the weather, but they haven't used that as an excuse). Based off the flooring company indicating they were installing this Friday and that I was hoping the builder would want my money before...

For nbn I have found exetel to be the best value. Unlimited 100 mbps for 89 a month. I can't vouch for their service though. Given that the nbn all runs on the same infrastructure, the retailers don't do a lot, they are essentially resellers, like synergy. I would expect the quality of the connectio...

I think these are pretty obvious, so the ss would be aware of them. pretty sure the sparky drilled the light in the wrong spot and tried to cover it up. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/31/b0b8ad540dedc6d19041dfab48c2c5d0.jpg This happened when the plumber connected gas to the hws on the other s...

Your place looks really good Justin. I've refrained from commenting on your thread because you have enough people to reply to as it is! I'm really lucky that I haven't had to deal with the issues you had. My place has a couple of things I've noticed, but I'm not supposed to be inside to see them, so...

Dropped by today and the internal door and shelf painting was competed, along with the front door. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05/31/269687ef41c82827f10cfb13bab98e39.jpg The garage door was also installed, which surprised me. I expected the paving to be done first. Really happy with the design...

So we popped in today thinking nothing had been done this week (except the insulation which was installed) but came across a pleasant surprise the mirrors and shower screens were in. We were expecting another 2 weeks manufacturing time for them. Big en suite mirror http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/...

We bought the same soniq tv as part of a whole house package second hand. It hasn't missed a beat and I can't tell the difference between it and the "better" brands. The frameless feature is nice too.
