Marsden Park. We are a confused bunch. Ourland registered on may, 2016. We spet 6 months to decide between wisdom and clarendon. In sept 2016 we signed with wisdom for ambassador 40, then changed our mind and decided to build custom. The custom built dream was ditched early last month as the price ...
Hi az29, Which Clarenden build were you looking at? And what constituted the $13k price rise?

Good morning! I can see that the rain and a handful of you are close to the End of the Road! I am yet to request a tender but I am close!! It has been said to me to Lock In the Price it will cost around $3K (i plan on KDR) Is this necessary and is it simply a bond? The December price rise was $8K. ...
Pay the $3k. Expect it may take a year to get through admin, and 2-3 price rises. We didn't pay to lock in the price as...

@GLO gonna be brutally honest here, KDRs will take 2+ years from tender to completion. We signed in Feb 2015, construction started in March 2016, we should be picking up our keys any day now but this rain is holding us up for the damn sewer connection. Yours might be better cos you're in Ingleburn....

Appointments done. $9700 spend with electrical, and then there's ...sentinel for the HT speakers. The only provisions we got were for 2 ceiling fans downstairs, and for pendant lights above stairs, front entry void, dining and kitchen island, and the 3 exterior lights on portico/garage. With the pro...

We are having our builder pretty much do everything, the less you get them to do, the less that's included in the builders warranty and we didn't want to be mucking around afterwards. I actually found getting quotes that our builder came in on par or cheaper on somethings than if we'd left it for a...
Very good point! Might best to review this and re phrase the question: What are the 'MUST LEAVE FOR THE BUILDER TO DO '...

Rest speakers are typically softer unless the movie scene has sound travelling from the front to the rear IE a helicopter flying over your heads. Rear and side speakers compliment the front pair and centre channel.

We have planned a dedicated media/network cupboard, which will contain all hubs and routers and our printer. Other connected items, which must all be able to be controlled by our IOS devices (so-called internet of things) include: * smart thermostats * smart smoke/CO2 detectors * remote controlled ...

Ok, you guys might think this is unnecessary, but one thing we did is: At our front entrace we have a 5 gang lightswitch. Apart from four of the switches being for front light, hallway light, column lights and garden lights, the fifth switch (middle switch on the wall plate) is to ISOLATE EVERY SIN...
What an amazing idea. How hard is that to do??! This would be pretty easy. A switch wire from the switch inside to a re...

RE Wi-Fi router location. I'm thinking that the central part of most 2 storey homes is the staircase (or the refrigerator) As such I plan on positioning the Wi-Fi router beneath the stairwell (approx 2m above floor level) as this hopefully provides Wi-Fi coverage to the entire home. Usually the high...

I thought I'd start this thread that may end up as a resource point for all things connected in your home. It relates to Home Networking and accommodating present and future connectivity. At this point I'll start off with suggestions and feedback on the following: 1. Cabling (Cat 5E / Cat6) 2. Wi-Fi...

Interest rates are now expected to rise (following the US) Project home builders had an increase in December and many continue IE to discuss another increase in April? Is this simply project builders padding up their margins in preparation for a slow down in the market?
