Hi Bek, we have just built with M and our contract ended up going over the 150 days due to us doing a demolition and M kept doing mistakes on the contract so it ended up going over-we copped $3500 extra which we weren't happy with but they wouldn't budge on this-so good luck, worth trying though......
Can I ask... did you have to pay that $3500 upfront? Or did it have to be paid at the end? I wish the bank could pay fo...

I am thinking about switching to EB Homes now..... after speaking with them today I am assured there will be NO hidden fees, the fixed price is THE FIXED PRICE. I don't want to be bombarded with thousands of dollars extra, over and above M's so called "fixed price". BUT i love the M home w...

I have been told by M and by GF team that they can do all the DA Approvals etc BEFORE the land is registered, so that once it's done they can start building straight away. I might ask them for an estimated time line. I am really worried about this hefty monthly bill we will be undoubtedly paying. Ev...

True. I suppose I just wish that the period was a little longer... especially because they KNOW we won't be starting in 150 days. Even if it was 6 or 7 months i think i'd feel a little better about it.... Do you know if all fixed price tenders with all builders have this clause?

It really is a tough call.... Another member of this forum who is building in the estate we're building in has said people have experienced long delays there... especially when they buy when the land isn't registered yet... which is the case for us. If that's the case, i could be waiting a year! It'...

Hi we built there and live there! It is definitely a loooong process here - if they're telling you that land will be registered early next year, take it with apinch of salt. We were fortunate to buy our block when the land was already titled, but many of the neighbours had to wait & wait& w...
Really? This has really scared me now as we will be paying price adjustments amounting to around $1400 a month for ever...

Was it sold as a house and land package? No, not a house and land package. But M are one of the 6 builders allowed to build in that estate. So they have a number of projects there at the moment.

This is what I'm worried about... we've already signed it when we put down the $1000 deposit!! That's the issue.... I didn't interpret it properly until the sales consultant clarified it with us today. She told me to basically keep bugging the developers as much as I can to push forward the registra...

Yes, we're in the new release... didn't know about the slab... there's just so much extra cost that we haven't accounted for!!! Which builder are you going with? We're building with M3tr1con - the house is awesome... but yes, slowly realising how expensi...

I have a question. Our home will be open plan living/kitchen/dining. I plan on having a white kitchen with grey feature cupboards and stainless steel appliances. The floors will be a white/cream porcelain tile.... do you think that's too "white"? Also, there will be a cupboard/shelving uni...

We are building the Milano 30 with M3tr1con. Just finalising all the 'extras' before we sign the tender in a few weeks. The land we are building on is in an estate where M3tr1con are one of the 6 builders allowed to build. The specific block won't be registered for a while and they expect it to be r...

We've been told the land should be registered and ready to build by April 2010 but i've heard rumours that it may be earlier..... would love to hear other pe...
