Sorry for not posting photos. Someone decided to arrive earlier than expected. http://i.imgur.com/2f7qhaYm.jpg I'll try to get around to tidying the house (no one told me baby paraphernalia would breed and cover the entire place!) and photographing it for everyone who's interested to see it. I'd als...

We had our PCI on Monday and while I'd love to say everything went smoothly, it kinda didn't - nothing to do with DAH though. Himself and I met our SS early morning who was wonderfully thorough and picked up so many more imperfections in the paint than we did! There are a few outstanding issues - an...

I've just done a rough calculation and I estimate we spent about $80/sqm on the Karndean (including floor prep, although our slab was so smooth I don't think much prep was needed.) The Karndean we chose was from the Opus range (915 x 152 mm) so not sure if that alters the price - the planks are stil...

Our Karndean got installed on Saturday!!! I love how it looks (pic was taken through glass so not the best image.) http://i.imgur.com/MM8efDal.jpg We had all our flooring installed via our builder - the Karndean portion was expensive. I won't lie, it was just under $10k. You can see my thread for th...

So our PCI is on Monday. We went to the block late this afternoon and the vinyl flooring was still going in - no sign of carpet and absolutely no cleaning has been done. Pretty unimpressed and I hope DAH don't expect us to sign off on stuff that hasn't been installed - I suppose we'll find that out ...

@nelleebellee It is hard! The next few weeks will be the longest of the entire build I think.

@ms_prez It's Solver Floral White. And we used Floral White in 50% for the doors, door frames and skirting boards.

After a delay with the painting, it has now been 100% completed! All that's left to do is the flooring and small fixtures and fittings such as door handles, towel rails, etc. and the final clean through. I still regret not choosing a darker grey for the exterior but it still looks pretty good to me....

This plan is amazing!! I always liked the Summit display homes (and wow do they have some fancy-pants kitchens!) I'm really looking forward to seeing this home being built. (And I'm totally jealous of your fireplace - how much do they cost? Perhaps I can talk P into getting one at some point....) ;...

Can't wait to see a plan and photos! Good luck with the build process - it's so much fun yet so frustrating at the same time. :)

It is just from dragging the chairs but the felt pads definitely help. We have a mid-colour vinyl and you can see where it's worn but it is very subtle still. The other thing is that the textured vinyl will hold up better (and hide scratches, marks, etc.) more than the super smooth vinyl or vinyl wi...

In our current home we have the cheap Bunnings vinyl planks (which come with a sticky adhesive backing - basically they go down like a giant sticker!) They have held up exceptionally well, look great and we are always getting asked if it's real wood. We put the vinyl in as we love the look of wood b...

Thanks @nelleebellee and @jpmontoya @mrsdoe We've been thrilled with Decor Blinds. We had a crappy experience at Kresta and ABC Blinds were underwhelming. Decor had all the time in the world for us, were happy to chat, discuss pros and cons of different products, price up a bunch of different produc...

We were allowed to go inside our house today!!! Dales let us in to do our final measure and quote for the window treatments. While waiting for our salesperson to arrive, we had a wander around the house and took a few photos. It was actually a hive of activity while we were there - our insulation wa...
