Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yes it doesn't look very complicated, just wanted to check if someone has done it. I have been quoted $1'000 to $1'400 bucks for installation (without the motor). Thought it was a bit of a rip off. :-) Regards

My fencing contractor could not supply the gate motor I needed, so I plan to get a suitable one and install it myself (low voltage 2-core wire setup, external transformer, sliding gate). I am pretty handy with my tools and it doesn't look very difficult, but would be interested to hear from anyone w...

Is there a BAL-FZ rated vent on the market for ventilating a bathroom? Currently the only option I have is to vent into the roof space, but I am not fond of this idea. Thanks for any tips.

The crawl space under my house is dirt and there is no underfloor insulation. The space is ventilated reasonable well and I don't have a mould issue. This said, I like to improve the overall insulation of the house and wonder what the best options are: - install underfloor insulation batts with a mo...

We are in the process of a major home renovation and I want to use the opportunity to upgrade my gas meter. The one I have works fine, but is in the wrong location and so old, Captain Cook probably installed it himself (see picture below). A couple of questions: - what sort of costs are we talking a...

No I haven't resolved the problem. I am a bit hesitant to go and ask the pool shop .. I know what they will say: 'you need a new chlorinator' :-)

I have a Viron eQuilibrium Salt Chlorinator (EQ45) that controls my pool water quality. Recently I noticed the water quality going off a bit and the unit indicating a 'low salt' level. Naturally I poured salt into the pool. A day later I took a water sample to the pool shop and was told my salt leve...

I am well versed with the regulation, the Warrior-FZ products and the difficulty of finding a supplier. Obviously you don't know either, thanks for your effort but it doesn't answer my question. Rgds.

Fully manual. The current bush fire specification does NOT require a powered system. I live 10km from the Sydney Opera House and the only reason I waste my time with shutters is because I have to comply with some regulation - I will never ever use them in real life.

I am looking for a BAL-FZ fire shutter that uses the same/similar fabric as the Warrior-FZ product, but can be manually operated from the inside (W: Bushfire Shutters | Windows and Doors | Bushfire Control ) Warrior-FZ do have a motorised version for this purpose, but there are several design featur...

Thanks for your suggestion. Our builder is recommending one particular company - a reseller for AWS windows. Nothing wrong with it, but I like to compare and see if this is the best option for us.

Can anyone recommend a windows supplier with a great product AND a decent after sales service record? As part of our renovation we will replace about 20 windows and doors. We are considering products from BWG, Stegbar and Trend at the moment. The problem is, most of them have atrocious reviews for t...

You were right the problem was that 'pig's tail' thing in the shaft deteriorated over time and blocked the water supply. The first plumber I called, looked at it for 2 minutes then said I need a completely new toilet costing $2'100. The second one not only identified the problem properly but fixed i...

I already tested the fill hose and made sure it works ok - there is no blockage. The problem is somewhere between the two endpoints shown in my photograph on the left and right.

We have DA approval for a renovation project but haven't started yet. We are considering a few alterations to our original plan but I can't determine if I require a Section 4.55 application (NSW). The council feedback is vague and the documentation I found isn't much clearer either. The changes we a...
