bamboo looks fantastic, however its a very soft material comparabe to most timber floorboards these days... you can get good bamboo but you'll be paying around the 180-200m2 mark. any cheaper and its not worth it in the long run there is an alternative, theres a multistrip enginerred timber floorboa...

not too sure if anyone has covered this but wool being obviously a natural product its a great insulator... cool in summer and warm in winter, you cant get this in any synthetic carpet... Wool is also very fire retardant, drop an iron on a wool carpet and you may get a few burnt fibres... on a synth...

probably wouldnt recoment laminate planks as laminate really is an mdf or hdf fibre with a photo of timber on top....water on laimnate will warp and expande like a mofo. probably suggest a vinyl, loose laid so when you want to change your flooring your not spending an entire weekend scraping the dir...
