Hi! I'm not sure how much help this will be, as we are still finalising our house plans, including kitchen design etc. But it seems like we will be having a similar colour scheme to you. Our island cabinetry, entertainment units etc will be in 'Wenge' and our benchtop will be a combination of stainl...

Hi guys Not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but it is kind of an "aesthetics" query - so I hope I can get some thoughts! :D We have been finalising our selections for our kitchen/bathroom joinery etc and are going to be using Caesarstone in the kitchen as well as bathrooms. Or...

Thanks for all the responses!! :D I guess we were just a little worried as we had always intended to have different selections in the kitchen/bathroom/ensuite...but after speaking to some joiners, they all seemed to recommend keeping them the same! But, I think we'll go with what we originally inten...

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has happened to come across these tiles or has any thoughts on them? From my very limited knowledge, apart from the cost, they seem pretty impressive as an option for floor/wall tiling... The basic information i've found: only 3mm thick sizes up to 1m x 3m extremely str...

Hi Just wondering if anyone has ever come across a flooring product called Pandomo and made by Ardex: http://www.pandomo.de/en/ It's some sort of concrete based self levelling screed, which can be coloured and finished in basically any way you want - an alternative to polished concrete I guess? We h...

Hi guys Hoping to get some advice on options as an alternative to large format tiles. I love the look of polished concrete, along with the associated benefits, however early on in our project I lost that argument with the missus and now we're probably too far down the track! We're effectively not to...

Why not hone what you have... or for that matter grind and hone. Grey polished concrete can also be stained to a variety of colours  Onc_artisan Hmm...any issues with grinding/honing a slab which wasn't intended to be grinded..? I *think* it's only 28MPa... ::dizzy:: Also, if it was stained, ...

Well, looks like i have convinced my better half that polished/honed concrete is a good option! ::wink:: So now, I just need to make sure that it's a viable option with our standard "grey concrete" slab. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a batch report on the concrete we used, but is the...

The concrete should not turn brown at all. It should if anything come up on the lighter side of things. You should be able to get your batch report of the concrete, as all concrete jobs are logged. Ok, so I've managed to establish that my slab is in fact 32MPa and that the concrete was supplied by ...

Thanks for all the responses guys!! ::lol:: To be honest, when we first saw the carpet and managed to get a sample and take it home, we had absolutely no idea it was a "shag pile" carpet - we thought it was a "plush" (which is what we originally were after) - it wasn't until I di...
