Wow, judder that's nuts! Surely commonsense by the council will prevail and they'll get your neighbour to move the tank. And then you can build the tallest fence legally permitted between you and that neighbour. Keep the crazy on their side of the fence! Good luck.

We did a kitchen Reno with them a few years ago. I thought they'd since been taken over by Nobby's ?

It will probably be fine in summer, cold in winter as it won’t get much sun.

Will a combined bath/ shower work? Along the 2450 wall. Then double vanity along 3000 wall? It’d have to be pretty narrow though. Do you need a toilet?

The wet room would take up more space than the combined shower over bath which is why I suggested that instead. How about the wet room along the 1800 wall (so bath against wall then shower) then a glass screen, no door. Then two single vanities against opposing walls. If the bathroom door gets in th...

Or have the glass partition with door in the middle. Kids tend to get water everywhere!

Oh, just another thought- if you leave the laundry where it is, you could have an angled laundry chute from the upstairs linen!

Is this a single storey house? Are you concerned that north facing clerestory windows will still be overlooked by your neighbour’s second storey? What about skylights?

You’re very lucky to have a rear to north facing block! My 2 cents: - swap pantry and laundry so you can put an extra window in the laundry for ventilation. Even if you’re building to boundary on that side can you have one of those high long windows if privacy is an issue. - minor BRs upstairs - add...

That sounds like an amazing build with the reclaimed materials! So who has designed the building so far? Are you using an architect or coming up with the design yourself in conjunction with a draftsperson? Actually, I assume you are not using an architect since you’re asking for suggestions here? Wh...

I think the round vents are a good nod to hamptons. I assume you don’t want to change your windows to sash windows [emoji1]. How about one of those garage doors with a row of small windows at the top? Also of course the colours you paint the facade with, and contrasting trim. Personally finials don’...

Definitely stick to the north to rear block! It’s more energy efficient. We have an easement running along our back fence as well. Can’t build anything on it , can’t really plant anything either except turf. Our council requires that they have access to dig to it at anytime (although they never did ...

Sure, but you want the windows facing the right way. So for example huge windows facing west would be a no no, as the rooms will get incredibly hot and glare-y in the evenings. Just food for thought [emoji846]. Have you a site yet?

I don’t think it looks excessive. Having multiple windows especially on separate walls is great for ventilation and cross breezes. A couple of things do come to mind though: As pp has said will you have enough wall space for furniture/tv placement. What will the side windows look out on to? Will you...

I think I can put all the clothes storage / drawers/ tall boy etc behind the wall behind the bed, but I agree with the wall space, and also nowhere to put a TV (which might be a good thing). I played around with removing the middle window, but then from the outside it looked quite obvious the build...

Our current space is about 12x5 with kitchen, meals and lounge in a line IYKWIM. I think your 12m width as per drawing is a little short to include the laundry and butlers (just picturing it in our space!). But you could use some of the 7.5m to put those utilities, so maybe leaving laundry where it ...

Architect or building designer is probably what you need. A draftsperson might advise on orientation, or they may just draw a bunch of rooms. You could also do some research yourself and work with a draftsperson to save some costs - a good starting place would be http://www.yourhome.gov.au EDIT: Aha...
