Hi busybusybusy, I'm having this very issue trying to decide this myself too. Not so much with the evap but the ducted heating. I always thought it was a lot more cheaper to run than on the old gas heaters, but after reading what you and Missem wrote I'm now having second thoughts. Can I ask both of...

MissEm, thanks for that. We don't know anyone that has had or who has ducted gas so it's hard to know whether or not it is the cheaper option. It certainly goes against everything that I've read, that ducted gas heating is more cost effective and cheaper to run opposed to the gas convector heaters. ...

Hi All, I'm a newbie here. We are building with Celebration in Baldivis. This is our second time, first time was with Content 10 years ago. You have to build at least twice in your life to get what you didn't get right the first time! Lol. Hoping to have our slab down mid Feb. Look forward to follow...

Well done Christina. For a young couple with 3 kids, you've done amazingly well. I was a young Mum too and that bit certainly makes you grow up quickly, add all your other setbacks...it will only make you stronger and wiser and wonderful role models for your children going forward. You're both obvio...

Hi SB, We also had Manuel roller shutters for our kids rooms that were at the back of the house. If your going to do your whole house your better off going for the power ones. Though good point about if there's a fire, not sure if there's a way around that. The Manuel ones are a bit ugly, but the ro...

Hi Vans, I'm very late to this thread and have been reading through your amazing building journey. Boy did you have some challenges. Well done for keeping it together. What was most interest to me was your bathroom colours. I was excited when I saw that you chose Platinum Micro for your bench top an...

Vans, Your awesome thanks for posting the extra pix. Yes your right there isn't a huge difference with the bench tops . I'm glad to hear you are pleased with your choices. Like I said we can't change ours anyway, so I'm happy. We are doing a lighter tile with ours, plus we have a slightly differentl...

Oh I feel your pain donna61!! Gone are the days when you used to be able to get the key from the real estate to go through the property yourself or organize to view it with the previous tenants....it's so complicated now!! We hadn't rented in 8 years so i was amazed how much had changed....maybe nai...

Hi jericho1227, Yes 4 months is a pretty good timeframe . It's is our second time building, the first time was in the boom when everything took ages. I'm not sure what state your in(I'm in W.A) as that book is based around building in W.A, but it's free anyway if you download it from iTunes. I look ...

Looks like our house won't have a slab down until the end of April. I can't take this anymore. Can anyone out there (especially redinkers) tell me how long it took from signing final plans to building permit to site works to slab? This stage is the most frustrating that's for sure. We signed with C...

1st build we chose a darker carpet. I loved it at first but slowly ended up resenting it. You could always see every bit of fluff on it especially when you have kids, plus the wear of carpet was very noticeable. Drove me nuts!! I'm not sure having lighter carpet is any better but I'm certainly not g...

Even saying what street and lot number you are in the suburb your building in is dangerous and quite silly. Anyone can read these threa...

Have to agree...Fmac that is ridiculous!! What was there reason for such a hold up? We signed up after you with Celebrations, got council approval mid Feb and had our slab 3-4 weeks later. We were told the usual is its 4 weeks after council, the slab should be down. I think it is reasonable to assum...
