I wouldn't be using that myself. They usually start to gum up with dust and cause a worse problem than when you started. Following the example of power car windows, grab a little bottle of graphite powder from Bunnings and squirt that around a bit and see how you go. It is completely dry and wont at...

Everything I've read says the only way to know for sure is to have a sample tested.

I have been considering the option as well. I'm yet to reach a conclusion, but I think I am leaning towards maintaining a landline/ADSL. VOIP is def the way of the future IMO, but wireless, I'm unsure about. It certainly seems a logical technology to use in our sparce regional country. Soemt things ...

Those prices are certainly similar to what I've seen. The only real issue with putting them together yourself is everything! nah, just being dramatic. When my dad did his fairly recently, there were parts missing, the isntructions were for the wrong sort of frame, and they needed 4 people to do it. ...

You would have poured some big $'s into those cars though commo... even though I know you would have spent very little on labour given your many talents, that constant spending is consumerism too in my books.

Disagree about serious broadband being more expensive if wireless Cabinfever. If you have a fixed wireless network such as what bigair and others are doing to serve a set zone residential area then it can be much faster and easier to rollout via wireless - and it does not have to be more expensive ...
I think you are referring to carrier costs here, rather than the hip pocket impact on the end user, where all wireless ...

Bit like you, I knew from looking that there was no weight on the wall I was removing, but as I was pulling it down, I still kept the whole section supported and tested whether it moved at all when i removed the last bit. It didn't, but if it had would have then had a bit of an issue putting a big b...

We've had that since, and I'm all good :) I'm pretty sure, if you were checking to see if it moved at all, like I was, you'd know, but that's not really the point, and that's how Sik sounded. The point is that I was certain I was right before I ever got to that point. I had done engineering science ...

McReidy, To me this is a clear one. You should only pay $59, regardless of the condition of the line. Then if the line is of poor quality that is part of Telstra's maintence obligation. Exactly! THis is the reason Telstra keep saying they have to charge their competitors so much - cause they spend ...

Well even though I've only ever heard this used where the occupier was of the type more traditionally expected (a lessee), if the builder is claiming to hold an exclusive control over the property they are certainly occupying it in my opinion, so I can't see how it wouldn't apply to them as well. ht...

Should I be concerned about these? Both structurally (they go across the entire width of the slab) and aesthetically (there'll be tiles laid on them)? http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/42/housesamples309gl1.th.jpg http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/2093/housesamples302er1.th.jpg

Telstra wholesale enforce a 6 month early termination fee on all ADSL supplying ISPs, so you would be looking at a min 6 month 'contract'. It costs them all $99 to have you connected, so you're either going to pay that up front, or somewhere in a longer contract period's monthly fees. No such thing ...
