I dont know if PD would let you do your own but on that note I wonder if you did it before they do the soil test, what would the sites costs come back as? I guess it would take someone to do it to find out. Interesting thought there to try it before they do the tests! I only ask because my BIL has ...

That's really annoying Ed!! There seems to be quite a number of thefts from houses that are un occupied, what about from occupied houses in new estates - has anyone heard much about these kinds of thefts?

OMG!! I'm heading to HI on Saturday for my first look....may the force be with me ;) I'm building in the Access range though, so hopefully less issues. Just wondering, how big is a bobcat? Our garage is quite integrated into the house, so we cant afford to extend the garage to have another roller door to the back of the garage. It was going to cost us something like $10k, which we didnt have. But the side of the house i around 2m wide. Is that eno...

Given that we've just got our plans and are now going through the electrical set-up stage, this thread has been amazing! Thanks everyone. One thing someone suggested we do (and we will do) is to include a TV point in your alfresco. You might want to watch that big game when your friends come over f...

One thing with Westpac is NEVER trust them unless everything is in writing. I don't think you need to just pin point one institution - when it's to do with contracts and money, don't trust anyone unless it's in writing

Think of it this way - If your child/partner/parent was working on the site and was injured due to people taking short cuts, would you be happy about it if it could have been avoided by using the correct equipment? It's like those worksafe adverts on here in Melb that basically say everyone needs a ...

There are only two houses occupied in our street with another 10 under construction at the moment. We have been visited by the police to see if we had seen anything suspicious after a house was robbed of all of its cabinetry and plumbing. There are so many cars coming and going at all hours that it...

Hi Zozomeister, I have a freind who had the same problem a few years back when he'd built his new house. It turned out that the plumbers had not fitted the trap to underneath the shower which allowed all the foul odours from the main sewer to rise up out of the showers drain hole. The buidler had t...
