We are now only 1 week away from handover! The floor went down last week and we have the pre-handover inspection this week. Handover will pretty much be bang-on the 35 weeks we were promised.

We have a void above the entry in our build. It's still at frame stage at the moment so a little hard to picture how successful or otherwise it will be.

Appreciate the feedback! Yeah, probably too far along to do much the alfresco area. Will just have to see how it turns out. We'll look to plants to help with the west facing windows. The door suggestion is a good one that we'll look into.

Been to visit the site a few times - still only frame up but all the rooms and spaces feel smaller than we thought it would. Hey mate, which builder do you go with in Canberra? Did you end up changing the plans from last year? We went with Blackett Homes - no the plans stayed pretty much the same.

So our builder just informed me that due to depth of the sewer pipes or something, they need to raise our slab by 150mm - problem being that the house will now exceed the local height limit. His suggestion was to a) lower the upper floor ceiling or b) "bring on upper RHS parapet wall in to be 2...

Did they even come out and take a look at your block? Would be good to know how they come up with that figure.
