Hey! I haven't actually got around to doing the side and rear landscaping yet, so it is still just sand. I really need to just map out what I want to do with it and start getting some quotes. Aircon I also haven't done yet. I didn't have the money left to get it done before Summer as I expect ducted...

Yeah, it's not cheap either. I forget the price to move it, but to sink it in a box it was $660. The developer set all of that out. The capped pipes were already there before titles and you can see where they are on the estate plans.

Congrats on moving in! Those darn water meters. I ran over mine too. Ended up paying water corp a lot of money to sink it into the ground and put it in a metal box so I don't do it again. I still have a small leak on my side of the meter though. Really need to get a plumber out to fix it at some poi...

Sorry to keep asking you annoying questions but when I think of something I remember you are great insight into what I am about to go through so.. Have you connected to the NBN yet? what is the deal with that? how early should I organise it / how long did it take for them to come out and set it up?...
No worries Yeah, I got connected before I moved in. Basically once you choose an ISP and sign up with them they will ar...

I ordered my bins once I had the keys. You just need to call the council, maybe check their website. I think they deliver new bins on Tuesday mornings. You get a regular one and a recycling one and they don't cost anything. You just need to have your house number clearly displayed. I just stuck a sh...

A quick note with the insurance. Generally your bank won't release the final payment unless you show them you have insurance (certificate of currency). I took out my insurance on the day that I sent in the final payment authorisation to the bank.

Yeah I think I will leave it till after handover to not be in the way at all for the builder. $660 seems steep for what we'll end up getting, probably only need a 800 wide gate I think, but having a quick google $400-800 seems the range for an installed colorbond gate. Interesting about upgrading g...

Hey just a quick question for a fellow Mason Green resident. When you organised the fencing was there an option to get the fencing guys to provide a side gate at the same time? if so was it pricey or cheaper seeing as they are already there installing the fence? Or do you need to do that after hand...
Hey, I hit them up separately just before they did my fence install to get a quote for a side gate. It ended up being $...

There are quite a few things they deliver before they start the bricks. I believe they were; Bricks, Window Frames, Sliding Door Frames, Front Door Frame, Skip Bin, Toilet, Storage Shed, Mortar, and possibly some other little bits. I think once I had all of those on site they started.

Exciting times! I went every day when my bricks started. With mine the bricks started exactly 4 weeks after the slab went down, which was about 2 weeks after they were delivered.

Sealer which is oil based is the hardest. I bet paint should be much easier. Yeah, I am using an oil based sealer. Solver Wall Sealer. It seems to vary from wall to wall. Some walls it goes on easily and others just soak it up. We did the ensuite today and it went on very easily. Maybe there is som...

I think next time I will just hire a painter. 3 full days with 3 people working on it so far and we are still sealing the walls. They were filthy and all had to be cleaned first. Now on to our 3rd 10L tin of sealer and still heaps to do.

Thanks everyone! Keys tomorrow morning! Straight into the painting on Tuesday. Spent some time at Solver on Saturday but still don't have a colour. Picked up the sealer and the paint for the wet areas (just going with plain white). Got a few sample tins of colours we liked so we will trial those. Me...

Another super late update! The house was finished off over the weekend and today was PCI! It went really well with only minor issues being found by both myself and the independent inspector. As long as there are no delays with the bank I should be getting my keys next Monday July 4. I will be gettin...

Here are a few more recent photos of the house. Main floor tiling was finished last week. Only outstanding items now are: Carpets, Paving, Garage Door, Final Render/Gable Painting, Cleaning. Looking good for PCI in 2 weeks! http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j53/oduen/20160612_151956_zpsyrm4tx8s.jpg ...
