Water bubbling out of the ground, which was evident from a number of videos, is usually from something under the ground (not surface water).

Although, I have no construction or building experience, I would probably take your comments seriously if it was not for this VCAT court case. http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/viewdoc/au/cases/vic/VCAT/2021/946.html?context=1;query=Branko%20mladichek;mask_path=au/cases/vic/VSC+au/cases/vic/VicSC+au...

No one cares. If you did not have your own independent inspector advising you and you have handed over your money you can now whistle dixi. Now it will cost you thousands to take the builder to account. Thanks for your response. I’m not the owner of the property but actually a neighbour. The owner,...

After an occupancy permit has been issued for a site, as the property is considered safe and suitable for occupation, which authority is responsible in Victoria for any remaining non-compliance issues? Does this responsibility transfer from the Victorian Building Authority to the local council?

We currently have an external boundary wall for a garage that has used un-rendered Hebel Panels. However it should be noted that this is not a separate garage, but instead the garage is part of the dwelling next door (ie there is an interconnecting door between the garage and the interior of the ho...

Thanks so much. WorkSafe also stated the same thing, and has an inspector coming out over the incident.

The builder for the construction site next door sprayed this chemical on our pets today and I’m hoping that someone recognises what it is. I thought it might be Mortein but it doesn’t match. I have spent ages searching the internet to see if I can identify it. [img:3uada1gw]https://forum.homeone.com...

Agree with the others - it's just not worth it. We are having significant issues with a construction site next door, and I would swap places with you, as we have had to incur thousands and spend a lot of time getting surveys, repairs, etc. Our matter involves land theft, not complying with building ...

Does anyone know if there are any provisions under the National Construction Code (or any Australian Standards) that covers the drainage for driveways? This question is in regards to a driveway that was just constructed, where stormwater drains away from the actual drain (making the drain useless).

[color=#000000][size=100]As part of the process of installing Hebel panels along the boundary, the builder next door caused various damages to the panels (ie cracks right through), plus the panels somehow had holes in them prior to installation (as I noticed it while the panels were on the ground p...

We are looking at installing a 2.7 metre tall Merbau Batten Screen that will be 12 metres long, and I am currently putting together a building permit application for this. Council came back with a list of questions and one of those was in regards to the break down of the cost for the screen. Most of...

If your property has been damaged or compromised then formally ask the builder to address it. In most contracts the builder controls, and is responsible for what happens on their building site. Its not the owner's doing or responsibility. As a courtesy FYI let the owner know what your asking their ...

The Victorian Building Authority stated that we can get compensation through VCAT, (ie to have the concrete removed) but I a...

Thanks Noname. As the adjoining owner we have felt at times that we have no rights (ie powerless), but we have also had some wins. Its just been a long and arduous process. In regards to the overlooking, they had to obscure the windows that face us. There is also a landing and two doors that regrett...

Hi Noname - We tried several times to resolve the issues with the neighbours and were ignored (yes, we alerted them to the non-compliance, in case they had not been advised). We were ignored, until we refused to let them have access to our side and served a Fencing Notice on them, and then we had so...
