Hi all, I'm curious to know if there are many first home owners, who have decided to build their first home? For my wife and I, we had a long browse at existing homes, but concluded they weren't big enough, they needed to much work and were too expensive for what you were getting. Building also had...

Hi just want to know whether it's worth getting bi fold doors. The house promotion includes the bi-fold doors but part of me is saying they're not too practical. Dont know how many times we would open them in summer and winter  they look great and all but just in two minds about them. I was thi...

Hi Kat, They're just lining boards, very easy to put up yourself or get a chippy to do them. They can be secret nailed in, or use liquid nails. The boards in your picture look quite wide, and for that reason I'd suspect that they are some kind of composite material (mdf perhaps) or maybe even PVC. ...
Hi Justin, Thanks for the reply and the link, really appreciate it Great to hear it wont be too hard Cheers Kat

We are building a Lifstyle Cremorne 41 at the moment, and have a unique perspective on PD in that we pulled the pin with them on the first build (which was a Hamilton 34), and then resigned with them a while later for a Lifestyle. Second time around we are very happy with the relationship, and the ...

Hi Just wanting to know where to get the wooden panels from. Really love the look. PD told us they couldn't do it and we would need to do it ourself. She said it would be pretty easy to do it yourself. Are they as easy as they look? Has anyone applied the same look in their house? http://i167.photob...

I'm sure if the customer service reps at the displays made commission on the upgrade as well, instead of just the base price of the house then you would probably see them push customers on the upgrades. Personally i like the non invasive approach. Our CSR did suggest a few upgrades, although they w...

We have had an issue with PD in the last few days about the height of a void, where the wording of the contract said one thing (not what we wanted) and the contract drawing was what we wanted and then the final drawing suddenly got changed to be not what we wanted and we signed it without noticing ...

You were lucky. A very similar thing happened to me when signing the tender (the drawings said one thing and the tender another). I ended up having to pay a post contract variation. They seem to value the written contract over the drawings every time - one would expect them to reflect the same thin...

yep, we found it just about impossible to get anything extra out of them too! As Mozzie said, pretty much take or leave it!! Some of their upgrades were reasonable, so were a shocker. Its a balancing act about being worth spending the extra so you dont have the hassle of organising it yourself late...
yeh we did find some of the upgrades were reasonable. Sounds like everyone who has dealt with PD has had no luck negoti...
