thanks. from your experience, did the R5 ceiling batt help reduce noise during heavy rain and hail? I live in a house with colourbond with no anticon - (Sarking only) and R3.5 insulation batts - we paid $4.5k back in 2010 to have colorbond. The rain noise is not much an issue for us (mostly because...

Hello everyone. My builder quoted me that the colorbond roof upgrade includes 50mm Anticon insulation (Light Weight Building Blanket). * Can't seem to find a 50mm thickness nowadays. Bradford Anticon website shows a minimum of 60mm. Anyone who had 50mm and what is your noise experience during heavy...

Hi MBX3, All completed and handed over in July last year and we've now been enjoying our new house for about 6 months now ::cheerleader:: Nah, I don't have insta page for my build. I was only updating a thread here on homeone forum but got lazy at the end and couldn't post any update. I've followed...

I have read that Gas heating works out cheaper than RC heating Gas costs around $0.017/MJ, while electricity is roughly $0.069/MJ ($0.25/kWh). If you go with a 6-star-rated gas heater, you're paying roughly ~$0.019/MJ for the actual heat at 90% efficiency ( http://www.elgas.com.au/blog/449-star-rati...

Hi , Did you find answer for this? I am building a house with builder supplied 6 start Braemar heater & hoping to add Refrigerated Add-on cooler to same ducting system in future to cool one zone at a time (only single phase so can do 16kW max cooling - Heater is 32kW for 30sqm house) Braemar sel...

Hi guys, Ive just got my initial plans back and was hoping I could get your fantastic advice. 12.2m block wide and 40m deep. North is to the back of the block. Couple of things Im not sure about: 1. Pool is on the east side - which is great as I really detest the western sun in summer. Will it get ...

Hi Murtaza, How's you build going? Do you have a Insta page for your build? Mine is SJDBuild@Canopy in case you want me to find. I am also going with Breamar TQM6x32 heater (only upgraded from TWM623 as variation yesterday). What did you finally settle with for heating & cooling?

I am in similar situation, my neighbor who is about to move in want his fence all the way to front even where we will have a garage wall which could act like a fence. I offered them 200mm of our land for them to use if they agree to finish fence where our wall on boundary starts. They seem to be rel...

We have had 6-7 bathrooms/toilets exhaust fan vents ducted and vent through the roof in our plans (rather than leaving them inside the ceiling/roof). I was actually not a fan of having too many vents on the (black) colorbond roof (as it looks ugly) so I discussed with my site supervisor and he ment...

Great to see your house construction progressing so well. Did you have the Pre-pour inspection by Private inspector? If SJD indeed have the 'best concreter then I am guessing you didn't have much picked by inspector.
