You're going to be somewhat limited with furniture, that's for sure. A consultant I spoke to once said that all bedrooms should have at least 3;s. Meaning that 3m or 3.3 say, is the shortest wall.. We did 3.8 x 3.8 for our smallest. Now that we're almost done, I'm glad we did and would not really w...

Tallboys have a different purpose to hanging wardrobes in that they have drawers as well as a surface area for storage and display of personal items. (One of my sons has a large screen tv sitting on his.) If you are serious about renting these rooms out I would have thought a tenant would need this...

Hey guys, Something that's really bothering me is the bedroom size of rooms 2 and 3, unfortunately after signing the preliminary works agreement the builder has now told me they had to reduce the rooms to 2.8x3.6 due to not meeting the r code so I have lost half a metre! Now I'm wondering if the roo...

So it's come down to thee builders, Momu, Dreamstart and Firsthome builders at the end of the week there is another price rise and my design is almost 100% Is this the time where I negotiate what I want for the house? For example.. Two include Westinghouse appliances the other says European brands. ...

[quote="alymei":1bkwd0he]We have a solartube in our rumpus. Tbh though, I wouldnt bother in the hallway. Light will come in via the bedrooms and bathroom. Id get rid of the door to the scullery and put fridge where that dishwasher is in there. 2.8m is little for bedrooms.[/quote:1bkwd0he] ...

Do you really need a drop zone , if you get rid off it you living area would be much more open. I did that on purpose so you can't see all the way through the house from the door or walk into a wide open room, the drop zone is a feature brick wall, hang your coat up, kick your shoes off and drop yo...

A few suggestions: 1. Your corridors will have no natural light, suggest you add in a skylight in ceiling between bed 2 and WC. 2. Agree with above comment, put a wall mounted hand basin/vanity into WC with door opening outwards. We did this and works perfectly, avoiding need for visitors to use th...

I would move the bath (freestanding) to where you have the sink (main bathroom) and try to get two sinks in there or one sink with more bench space. Your future daughters will thank you! I also wonder if your living room will be quite dark, as there is no natural light coming in, and light from mea...

I think the main bathroom is poorly laid out and could be improved. Also, the fridge is causing that back bench to be a bit tight. I would move refrigerator into encroachong a bit on that WIP/ Living tv wall, opening towards the kitchen (I hope that makes sense) What would you do to improve the mai...

the house is north facing, i'm looking to extend the garage by 1m deeper which is why i'm also pushing the alfresco out so the roofline matches, i'm thinking of pushing the WIR out slightly as the theatre is already big enough.

Hey guys, Please weigh in on my house plan with any advice/tips or input. I will be adding a door on the theatre and ensuite. Hi, I would 1 Lose the pantry as it will drive you crazy going in and out to put stuff onto the scullery bench for prep. Push wir in the bed into pantry for larger bedroom and then use the other side/half of pantry as IT nook or similar. 2 Switch out the swinging door for internal cavity slider to ...
