We didn't have anything stolen during the build which is still surprising as if we could get into our 'locked' house then am sure so could other ppl.. However we did have our instant hot water system was stolen few weeks into the house.. while we were sleeping (creeped me out for quite some time) .....

You can always place baits or traps in the ceiling. If they can get into the walls, they can get into the roof space. There's far more chance of smelly dead critters with traps, unless you're prepared to climb up and check them daily. We had a recurring visitor in our bedroom a few weeks back. ::hy...
Thanks kek. Guess will have to go bait shopping tomorrow.

Well there would be around 0.8m of space to go around it, I am hoping that should be enough as we are not planning on using that space for anything else. In our situation the tank could not be relocated to the blind side as there was not enough wall space between all the bedroom and ensuite windows....

I heard some scratching sounds in our walls few days back and then heard them again today... i think we might have mice in our walls AAAAARGGHH ::hyst:: I dont like the idea of poison as I don't want them dying in the walls with no way to remove them - and traps don't seem physically possible. Does ...

Thanks for your input kek! We do have a general idea of what we want to do and would like to have a deck in the alfresco area and have the rest of the area paved. As neither one of us is interested in gardening so we want something as low maintenance as possible. Here is the landscape plan I made a ...

Hi everyone, So we have FINALLY decided to start work on our outdoor area :D But before we do anything there is one issue I would like your input on. Our water tank is located on the Alfresco side (it could not be located to the dead side due to limited space) and we are considering relocating it to...

Roman blinds when you pull them fully up will have a pelmet and usually a whole fold of fabric also hanging down....does that make sense? It just means on doors etc depending on the mount sometimes you don't have the hieght clearance that you want. The solution is quite simple just install them a b...

We are also in the process of getting our window coverings. Personally I love the look of Romans but don't think they would be very practical in the areas you have mentioned. We've decided to go with Romans on the Alfresco door plus in the bedrooms and Rollers in the ensuites. Now just need to final...

Our facade wasn't rendered correctly - so my first thoughts weren't happy ones. You can read more on it here if you would like. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14610

Could you post a picture of that part of your floor plan so it's easier to see where walls line up ? Looking at the bulkhead on top, it looks like the wall will run into the wall on the other side (and not the WIR entrance). If that's the case, couldn't you put in any door in a frame ? You could ev...

I saw this post the other day and still thinking about what options you have apart from the one you have already looked into. However, I have been unable to think of an alternative. Does the right wall (as per photo) align with the other all (I see that it has been stepped in abit from the left sid...

Just thought of something, I have heard of people installing a Bidet, if you did this in a Porter Davis house, did you add it as well as having the toilet, or just replace the toilet all together, I was thinking that we could maybe add a second toilet to where we want it then remove the unwanted on...

We are looking for options to cover the ensuite entrance (highlighted area). http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/4683/masterbedroom22.jpg The reason we have decided to cover it now is to improve cooling/heating efficiency (one of the things we hadn't thought at the time of construction).
