Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single glazed. I think the master needs a re-think. Could you have a narrow study (1.8 - 2m deep) before you walk into the room with a window opposite? Just think it will be a lot of wasted space.
