We have 1700 and probably the best thing, as it makes it very easy to stand around people while cooking and having conversations https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/68682_1604062880.PNG Its all about compromise, your island bench is quite narrow at 900mm so allows for more space between the bench and is...

Good point about the kitchen spacing..Apparently 1200 between the bench and island is standard these days, i find it to cramped myself. I have 1800 spacing where i live now and it allows for people to pass and move around each other easily. It costs nothing to space it out a bit more but definitely...
Jesus, 1200 is not too bad, mine is only 900 at the current kitchen so can you imaging how narrow it is. Wow! I thought...

Building A New House

I found the most annoying part of the "so called" homebuilder is the fact that it is house AND land value less than $750K! Considering the price of a reasonably decent size block can cost $400-$500K, that doesn't allow a very big house, or one with some nice features! It's geared towards ...
Not everyone lives in a major city in Australia..House and land under 750K is very achievable in most places i would th...

Trying to ask for money for a fence erected years before you even owned the property sounds ridiculous to me..I'm assuming its a colorbond fence and after 5 years its probably half way through its life anyway..But none of that is law, just common sense which means nothing these days..

You really don't need to mount speakers everywhere those days. High-end sound bars (e.g. Yamaha YSP-5600) can provide comparable or even better experience than most of the speakers out there. Lighting can be controlled via 2 layers of lighting w/dimmers and scenes. Depending on the size of your roo...

I didn't know where would be best to place this. But given the purpose, I thought I'd try posting here. I'm deciding between having a dedicated HT versus a living room that's been built to get close to an HT use. I don't think the HT will get used as much as the living room. With that said, the liv...
