Hi Barbs 79, It's great to hear of someone else building at the Hermitage it was so lonely for a while! Are you building in the second stage? My sister is also building a Rawson house in the street behind us (she hasn't started yet though). Good luck with your choice of builder and look forward to h...

Hi Roops, we are building a Rawson home in the first stage at the hermitage. There is about 12 DHA houses in this stage and I don't think there will be anymore in the next releases. It's been great having them in our neighborhood for the security. When we first found out we were happy as my step fat...

Tarsha, we also received an invoice yesterday with "Merry Christmas" attached to the email! We are at frame stage and we feel as though this progress payment was a little early as they have built a wall in the ensuite and it isnt meant to be there and they have not put a wall where there i...

Happy New Year to everyone! Thank you for all of the information & help in 2012. Well we are at frame stage & our SS is not back until the 14th. We have issues & our SS assures us that they will be sorted. The garage slab has to be fixed as it rained on the day & its wrecked. He said...

Tondar - Its reassuring to know you also had issues that were resolved. I didn't know you were building at Gregory Hills. My sister is also building with R in the next street in our estate and they lodged with council a week before Christmas. I hope your house will be built by the time bubs arrives,...

Has anyone made changes in the building process? I am concerned about the wall colour and also the Island bench and want to change these. I know its probably going to incur a cost but these are important and now that I have got our LED lights (a close friend got them for us with his staff discount) ...

munchi - I feel your pain with R's long, drawn out admin process. The only way we got through it was by trying to see positives such as the fact that they are a good builder with a good reputation. They also have great packages and the big bonus for us was the fixed price. We were not going to need ...

Tarsha - the lounge is lovely. if the colours are a little different, maybe you could put a rug down and as Smorgz said add a splash of colour with cushions or accessories. I took my sample piece of carpet with me and it was a great help! As we sell glass splashbacks for a living, I talk to people a...

Tarsha the people at Freedom are always helpful! I like your range of cushions and colours and I think blue will look lovely with your lounge (I have a similar colour scheme). It sounds like you are going to have a lot going on in the next couple of weeks how exciting! Smorgz looking forward to you ...

Tondar that is great news. We dropped in yesterday to see how they are progressing with the bricks and I commented on how neat and tidy they are on site & the great job they are doing. We probably have the same brick layers. My husband had a job over that way today and drove past and he said the...

Sorry Duessel I didn't realise you were in Sydney. It is the display homes on Camden Valley way, Homeworld South. We are building in the new estate there, if you are going there and would like to see our build. We are the only ones building with Rawson there at the moment and there is only 3 streets...

Tarsha you must be so excited to finally get upstairs! Your house is progressing well. I love the section for your shoes as well and the beautiful view you have. Glacier when we did our colour selection, we took photos of our choices (my husbands idea as he knew I would forget) and also any items th...

Duessel I totally agree. This was exactly how we felt and it is not because we didn't understand that each of these processes take time (with council etc) but its how long it took for processes in admin that should not have taken that long that is the frustrating part. I am having issues now because...

Duessel I agree with Jen, dark carpet is much more forgiving and less stressful. I have picked a taupe colour carpet and when I took the sample to the display house it is a perfect match. I chose it as I think it will be a safe colour. The light carpet in our last house was not good. I also have cho...

Duessel the display home there is the Metford, and the Chifley has the tiles we are getting. I am not sure if the carpet is as dark as you are wanting but its a chocolate/taupe sort of colour. I hope all goes well with your build and it sounds like you should be seeing some movement very soon. Excit...
