Forced Ventilation will help but may not solve the problem. An Old Place I rented a few years ago had a serious moisture and mould problem. There were 2 continuous ventilation fans going in the sub floor but these did not solve the problem. The micologist / building inspector I employed for an expe...

Best to identify the source of the moisture and address that. Some areas in Sydney like in Chatswood for example have surface water running above the shallow sandstone layer causing damp basements if not properly managed. Whole streets can be affected. There may be an issue with inadequate drainage...
