Hi forumers, Does anyone know of any builders in Mandurah area (WA) with experience building in the Canals? Or if you have already built in that area, how was the experience? I am from Sydney, so any feedbacks are greatly appreciated. Many thanks Sammy

thanks everyone. Another day, the concreter did not show up. He called yesterday to let me know he will be here this morning. Actually believed him as he was the one that called! Ah well, things can only improve.

Oh my, thanks for that, I think he must have sprayed sealant on the bricks as well! We have concrete splattered on our fly screen doors as well. Does anyone know if it will wash out?

Not watermarks. We think it is sealant. It is dry to touch but glossy like stain. Will the colours even out over time?

Hi, We recently had charcoal coloured through concrete for our backyard. The first section was poured 3 weeks ago. We are still waiting for it to be sealed. We noticed white patches in concrete a few days later. Our concreter told us it was salt and it will be gone after he seals it. The second batc...

No. He has asked for more money, but I only gave him a bit at a time. We still have 2k to pay, only when he does finish the job. It's a bit dark right now for photos. I will see I get some tomorrow. However, it is predicted rain tonight..... Not really sure what to do....We were thinking that if thi...

We have coloured through concrete in the back. It was done in 2 batches. The first batch was done 3 weeks ago. Our concreter has not shown up to seal it yet. There are muddy cat prints and patchy white areas as well. He has tried to wash it away with a normal hose, but it doesn't work. What is the b...

Biro marks! I use the 3M never scratch thingy and its great. Wish they mention what to do with biro marks. DH tried using an eraser, it sort of worked but left a smudgy patch instead.

We have 9ft ceilings and bulkheads. Can't post photo here, but you can have a look in my blog. I think it is a personal preference if you want cupboards or bulkheads to the ceiling. If my cupboards have those white, flat, minimalistic type of doors, I wouldn't mind having it all the way to the ceili...

thanks. I have used Ajax once or twice, but I noticed the 'shine" is gone when I look at the table at an angle. Detergent and warm water still doesn't remove some stains. I thought CS is not suppose to stain! I'll try Windex next time. Does windex have alcohol in it? Would that affect the polis...

Does anyone know the best way to clean quantum quartz bench tops? Will I scratch it if I use Jiff or Ajax? Our benchtop is the same colour as the ones at McDonald restaurants- whitish colour. I have noticed that if I rub an area too much, the stone looses some of its "shine". So far, I hav...

Some real estate agents just want the bond money. Our last rental, while the house was building, the agents won't give us back the bond because there were little bugs inside a couple of the light fittings. Absolutely ridiculous! Try not to let them get to you. Lovely driveway. We are also getting hi...

Hi Southies, In regards to the 4m stacker door, will you be getting one very large roller blind or a few roller blinds to cover the door? If it is a few roller blinds, would it be hard for the pattern flow or match the next roller blind? I hope I am making sense. It may not look as good if they don'...

4 years ago I was given the Native mint bush as a gift. I gave it a big trim today as it was looking scraggly, or very twiggly (are there such words?) The leaves smells really good. Is it edible? Can I use it in cooking like other mints?

Wow! So stone cladding is cheaper? Could I ask roughly how much? Are they cladding over bricks? I just got a quote for $400 per metre square for labour and materials. We need around 50m2 so the total price is around 20k as well, which is waaaaaaay out of our budget (unless if we win lotto tomorrow) ...
