Now you've changed the picture it's a bit more obvious. That new back section from the timber wall should be the same height as the very back retaining wall and run right through to it. You cut the land from the original height at the back (neighbour is obviously happy to have that back area at ori...

The builder is supposed to build things according to engineered, contracted plans. What do your engineered plans say as it pertains to this retaining wall? What inspections did you organise at various stages throughout your build? Did they inspect the retaining wall? It may sound like you just pay ...

Need a better photo or two. I have no idea what that photo shows. Isn't it obvious. Its a 1m retaining wall against 1.6m of my neighbours land. What kind of photo do you need?

Warning of price increases starting Dec 2021, with some coming into effect Jan/Feb 2022, and delays are expected Roofing (Colorbond, Truecore) Steel (Reinforcing Bar, Reinforcing Mesh, other items) Thankfully we secured the Frame price, can't say if there...

Unfortunately I'd forgotten to update this post. DC living were guessing on our noise category. No testing had been done. This was a year ago and I had little knowledge about building a home. They were throwing such large numbers at us, it gave us a scare. After going with a new builder we found out...

I've chosen to go with Pathway Homes for my sloped block https://www.facebook.com/pwayhomes They've built a number of homes in my area, where sloped blocks are common. They've been OK so far. Little slow on follow up communications via email, best to call them directly.

It would have been taken up more, and provided more work (i.e. jobs) if it was house only that was included in the pricing. Some land areas in estates around Point Cook (Melbourne) are as high as $500K to $600K for an average block (fairly small by some standards), so how can you build on that for ...
I agree the house price should have been the only consideration. Because of the land value in my area + the house build...

State treasuries have to be careful with adminstering applications for a policy that will be prone to issues. They will be the ones held accountable for a scheme designed by the Commonwealth. Pretty sure this is why things are moving slowly. Unfortunately we won't be eligible anyway it turns out. V...

I saw in the news a very small number approved, about 250? so they might relax the ruling to get better take up. That 250 or so were just the applications. So far zero people have been approved or received any money.

I found the most annoying part of the "so called" homebuilder is the fact that it is house AND land value less than $750K! Considering the price of a reasonably decent size block can cost $400-$500K, that doesn't allow a very big house, or one with some nice features! It's geared towards ...
