I am going to replace my doors, new door, hinges and handles. I am going to re-paint the door jamb, architrave. Should I do this all before the new door is hung? Also I am purchasing a primed door, do I paint it before the door is hung?

As the wardrobes now create a new cornice line, I would use the smaller ceiling dimensions to find the centre point. Also, I would lie in each bed and look up to see what looks best. That is the position from which the light will be looked at the most. Thanks!
Thanks!

Where the rounded corners of the door architrave are I will have a gap, tried to show an exaggerated version on the blue here. So still cut straight? There would be a fair bit to fill... https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/90777_1565306224.jpg

We have just had some built in wardrobes installed. They take up the majority of one side of the master bedroom. We will be installing new ceiling lights, and I've realised that the centre of the room looks off now we have the builtins installed. Does anyone have any advice on this? Is it a prefere...
Without seeing a picture, I would err on centering it over the bed. Sorry not the best photos, but does this help?

Where I am joining the skirting to the door frames it is rounded, would I cut at an angle and just fill with silicone? https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/90777_1565251263.jpg https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/90777_1565251264.jpg

You can just glue it but you run the risk of it coming off eventually when it's knocked. Construction adhesive (liquid nails) gets quite hard and often what happens is when the skirting is knocked the glue stays stuck to the paint but the paint pulls of the plaster. If the paint and plaster is good...

Hi all, is it best to pain skirting and door frames first? If I can't do this does it matter? Also wondering how I should tackle the below, is some scraping and sanding enough to even everything out? I don't think it would be realistic to strip everything back but not sure? What would be the recomme...

Thanks! Can I just glue the skirting to the wall or do I have the risk that it may bow?

I am replacing a simple intercom in my house. I purchased the newer model, it looks like a telephone cord. Are there electrical currents running through these? Not sure whether you need to turn off power to change or if turning off the breaker would even do anything as it's connected to the outside?

I agree with Arcadelt. But you likely can't get parts for the vintage spiral balance so you will need to buy new. Here's Bunnies https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/3082_1564633975.JPG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Se-YGNegpOo Se-YGNegpOo That was super helpful thanks! I was looking at videos but coul...

Can anyone recommend which lights (below) would be best for two bedrooms. Thanks! Would you suggest putting architraves on these windows or they don't lend well? They seem to have a lot happening inside the window box? It’s up to you. Architrave is usually used to cover the gap between the window frame and wall, but in your case looks like it was not needed. You could ho...

Could anyone recommend a good brand of downlight?
