There is no picture attached. Porch and alfresco will be part of the slab so plIn is to be expected. Typically tiled or decked. Sorry I could not attach it here as direct upload or not working . However I have not opted for tile so it would be plain concrete. Adding 1m wide concrete around the path...

colours are purely aesthetic. There will be no difference to the outcome. Choose what you like the look of. Exposed Ag>Stenciled>Coloured>Plain in order of cost/desirability. If you're worried about colours, get samples of the colours and place them together to visualize what this looks like. Thank...
Thanks much for the order. As my porch and alfresco are left as plain concrete I was worried as per the picture attached

Ours is Austral bluegum brick for a double storey house and currently opting for a variation to pour concrete around the house for 1m wide. Driveway colour is charcoal coloured (brushed) concrete, the garage door is surfmist. But I am worried about how does this concrete colour selection would impa...

i'd just be careful with a flood light positioning so it doesn't blind you when you come back at night. i've seen them on some neighboring houses mounted right above the garage door, and it was too much light for my liking and looked like it would shine directly into driver's face. Thanks for shari...
Thanks for sharing more insights. I am going with sensor spotlight.

when you say sensor lights vs sensor flood light, do you mean a normal light connected to the separate sensor vs an all-in-one unit? or do you mean flood light vs spotlight? i'd say cost would be the only benefit of the all-in-one unit that i can think of. having separate sensors will give you more...

Whats the pros and cons of installing Sensor lights vs Sensor flood light to cover garage entry for a double storey house ? its a corner lot (Garage on South and Porch on East). Do we need them on porch as well or just LED would be suffice? I am planning to install wirelesss camers after handover. P...

The 200mm rule has been around for ages with gas cooktops but it refers to combustable materials. Tiles and Glass splashbacks are classed as non combustable, however caesarstone is a high resin product and will absorb heat rapidily and cool quickly which will cause it to crack thats why they put th...

200mm, Is impossible isn't it? So those with glass splashback or tile splashback. No way you can have a 200mm gap from a gas burner for 98% of the build of current new houses right now. that second link has some tips on how it can be worked around (like putting fire resistant plaster behind the spl...

looking at this document, they seem to be measuring 200mm from the edge of the gas burner, rather than the edge of the cooktop: https://www.caesarstone.com.au/Portals/0/Documents/2017-Kitchen-Splashback-Guide_Web.pdf (page 2) For gas cooktops it is a requirement for a minimum 200mm gap from the per...

My DA plan has 900mm gas cooktop and builder now said it has to be electric cooktop because of there should be over 200mm gap between burner and the glass or vertical space. What can be done to get the glass window and gas cooktop together as I got splashback tiles around the glass (1200 width and 4...

It should be specified on the certified engineering notes, details which form part of the contract? Unfortunately, the new builder may not take responsibility for the previous builders completed slab work. Thanks much, I would check the certified plans. if you are on reactive soil, you should be building a perimeter path around the entire house of at least 1M with a 50mm fall. Its handy for getting around the outside of the house, its necessary for keeping water away from the foundations. The gold standard is a strip drain at the edge of the path ...
Thanks very much. It helps

As my driveway and porch are on different side of the house, have to walk around to reach my front porch (alternative is go via garage space). Is it good to use concrete 1m wide , 8m2 area which costs $1200 and go with builder or can be done after handover? Is it a good idea to add a concrete layer ...

Stick with the coloured distressed concrete look, once your slab starts cracking those cheap light coloured, large tiles will make the area look worse.(humour) As3600 Concrete structures codes recommend an extra layer of reinforcement to maximise crack control on large areas, hope the builder picke...
