Just to digress a bit... what would these ppl possibly be after? Our house has got nothing to steal apart from may be laptop/s and Tv... unlikely that would fetch them enough rewards for the efforts they put in breaking in!! Every time we had a delivery the next day they broke in. Eg 2 Bosch ovens,...

Actually I don't have any of the certifier's inspection certificates. What I thought were for the slab and frame were what the engineer signed off on when doing the plans. No trust me switching it off slowly or quickly will not make it spark, my father in-law is a Electrican it should not spark.. Y...

[quote="vhome":3pnm40np]Thanks everyone for the detailed replies. Our builder has quoted $666 for the upper floor only flyscreens. Does that sound reasonable? As some reasons mentioned above, I find less relecance for the diamond grills or crimsafe. The glass panels wouldnt have any of tha...

Yes fly screens/security screens are installed on the inside but doors are done on the outside but usually there is a deck or landing. It will be cheaper to do it yourself rather then though the builder as they always add 20% (common knowledge) maybe more depending on the builder. The other way to ...

The bank paid final payment before handover. They had someone check the house and I think they said to do a value, then paid it before we moved up here. Nothing in the electrical box. Will go back to the few photos we have of construction and see if there is any yellow plastic. https://forum.homeon...
I’ve circled around the yellow plastic on the outer edge of the slab so you can have something to see when you look for...

Yes, Qld. I am looking into getting an independent inspection done. I opened the oven door today to look inside and realised there is a loose third pane of glass in there. Whoever put it in would've known it was. That is what is so frustrating. Then it is up to me to contact the manufacturer, even ...

What state are you in?? In qld handover can be done without the final plumbing being signed off on with coucil, this is changing next year. You showed have received the form 21 at handover regardless. I would not wait & ask for it now!!

Yep have black beetle grubs can't believe it. Sprayed beetle spray all over, then cut out all dead patches and laid new turf down. Also got myself Scott's lawn grub fertiliser. Hope that does the trick. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190628/be26cbd529dc239017847b98f09b92cc.jpg https://uploads.t...
Glad that helped, looking forward to seeing it recover 😊

I have “these fury things” purple fountain grass I have the Dwarf variety & it still is a big plant. So you would plant it on it’s own & maybe have a small plant between them. I have to cut it back regularly, but it is a stunning plant. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/89747_1561424514.jpeg O...

And two plants I'd like to look into to add along the side are in pictures below. I've seen these around but have no idea what they are. Would anyone have any idea on the species? Maybe not the exact ones pictures but similar possibly? I'm looking for the purple long ones here. https://forum.homeon...

I was a tenant for many years before we built our first home last year. We rent for almost 24yrs & our last place we lived in the rental for 8yrs. So I was that tenant you are trying to target. Having side yards is not important, the size of the backyard is & we never had children but I like...

Unfortunately if you didn’t see the piers getting poured on a single level block it’s near impossible to see them. You do get a structural certificate after the roof & frame go up. You can always ask the builder for proof that they did the piers??

The certificate of occupancy represents that the house in a habitable house so without that certificate the house is not a house you are illegal aloud to occupy.
