In my experience, it is cost saving to have your master plan thoroughly done and research about your selections. There are a lot of small things that I could have missed if I have not researched or asked fellow home builders and friends. Some of these are: The type of sink handles 2.7 Ceiling height...

I’m not sure about brands but we got our blinds from Solomon’s blinds. Ours is a dual roller blind so we have both sunblock and blockout blinds. The sunblock blind is called solarscape and it does the job well.

It will depend on how you will arrange your furnitures and other additional furnitures you will have there. The basic thing I know is if you will get a rug, it should be big enough to make all your sofas, coffee table and chairs look grouped together For the extra spaces you can add shelves or plant...

If it’s me I’ll pick the cash only because I prefer choosing my own upgrades and brands. I don’t mind not having a very fancy appliances when I can choose a decent appliance upgrade without spending too lavishly. 15k will help me add funds for driveway/concreting/fencing/landscaping etc unless it’s ...

I don’t know how big your lounge is but you can try this arrangement https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/89371_1609479557.jpeg Hang the tv, buy some corner sofa, lose the book shelves and the round side table Or much better a c shaped sofa

Re: What's your opinion on DARK vs LIGHT roofs
Building A New House

Most new houses seem to have a roof at the darker end of the colour spectrum - but what about heat? There is a lot of information out there about light colours and having a cooler house. So why don't more people choose a lighter roof? Thoughts? In my opinion most people choose dark because they sim...

I too think the colour is a good match and looks great - spend the money elsewhere - driveway, landscaping etc. If doing an aggregate driveway the browns and greys will pick up the colours of your house really nicely. That’s cool because our driveway will be an exposed aggregate. Thanks!

Initially I'd tend to agree with changing to roof/gutter colour. But I'd suggest waiting until its all finished. The green turf out front and other bits and pieces may change your mind. I think having the garage door blend into the bricks rather that stick out might grow on me. I don't know but I'm...

If you have the money, hire someone who is a good staged building inspector. When doing selections, thoroughly research about the stuff you wanted. Also when selections has been done, thoroughly review the list before finalising or signing the docs. We made a 3k+ worth of mistake by missing to check...
