Which direction does the glazing face? What type of low-e coating exactly? To keep the heat from the sun out, or keep your winter heating in? Low SHCG, to keep heat from the direct sun out, or high SHGC, to let it in? Different glazing solutions should be used for different orientations. It is requ...

Hi all Just need some opinion about using non treated timber mgp10 for house. Is it normal to use non treated timber frame by builders? Or it is important to have treated timber frame for walls and roof.

We’ve only been in our house for 3 weeks and had no really hot weather in that time so difficult to tell. But as we have fantastic rural views out of these windows and are not planning any window coverings it was a requirement for us to install low e glass in order to meet the 6* energy rating requ...

Meranti is "hardwood". If you are referring to internal reveals then Meranti is fine. Thanks chippy, I did mean internal reveals. I am not quite sure which one I should go for between Meranti and timber.

The group of 3 windows/ sliding door at the front work together, start from the ground up and have a lower roofline/ eaves than the other windows at the front of the house, which start from a sill about a metre off the ground. If you made them 2340mm hi...
