We're currently building near Brighton beach with Oakford homes and have found them pretty good. They can do split level too (they had a split level display home in blackwood). They do full custom, but you can also take one of their designs and modify it to suit. We're currently building a modified...

And thank you for the tip re council applications too. Council have been quite upfront about the fact that...

Take note that flat slab on a cut/fill/elevated block is easier for builders so they will first try explore tha...

I literally sold everything I could, from removable things even to fixed things like the front door and garage, back shed, paving etc. Paid for about 50% of the demolition! Don't be scared to just put it ALL on facebook marketplace & gumtree, and see who gets interested, you'll be surprised at w...

You only really need to technically visit the site once during each major stage of construction, anything more often is just to satisfy your excitement and curiosity. Having said that, you will find you will want to head out there a few t...

there's nothing wrong with doing it with todays modern gas heaters, however the main consideration is TV height. Optimal TV height is where your eye level while sitting down is exactly 1/3rd of the way up the TV height. For a 75inch TV this means the bottom of the TV needs to be about 80cm off the g...

In my last house I had the tv wall mounted , and then an electric 110 inch projcetor screen up on the roof that came down in front of the tv. Allowed for best of both worlds, TV/living for normal use, then the projector for gaming and movies at nights
