I mean TIE 3.00 in yellow, -0.59 in green and 2.50 in light pink. This is a sewage location map from South East Water (Melbourne). Thanks in advance. ht...

I wanted to go a bit further than light. Sensors, sockets, motorised things all those toys! :) I agree with @gillybean. We don’t have neutral wires and smart switches, but we do have smart lights, sensors (security, motion, light level and temperature), smart thermostats, motorised blinds, house wi...

Just wire as per normal and use smart bulbs. Will be a lot less expensive and a better more flexible system than the switch option. I wanted to go a bit further than light. Sensors, sockets, motorised things all those toys! :) Hmm I don’t know how much research you’ve done but all those things and ...

Would be a bummer to come to another builder and he tells me the same thing as my current one. I guess it depends on the builder, your relationship with him or her, and the type of build. We built a fully custom home and had a great relationship. He would work with us to consider whatever we wanted...

But I am so far from the actual implementation considering the house is not even started. At the moment just trying to put wiring right. :) Since that is the case, can you change the builder? Left this option as the last resort. Not sure if 2-wire setup is a common practice among AU builders or not...

That's great! I have not decided yet on the technology, the main factor will be compatibility with OpenHab. Switches I have in mind are zigbee. But I am so far from the actual implementation considering the house is not even started. At the moment just trying to put wiring right. :)

Hi, I am wondering if anybody can give me an advice regarding smart switch/sockets wiring for the new build. Spoke to the electrical consultant of the building company and found out the following: 1. They cannot install smart switches we want, so we will need to put them after handover. This is not ...
