I started the process when I first engaged Metricon and confirmed they required the relocation. But to be honest the whole process didn’t take long, 2-3 months should definitely be enough, but council can be a variable. For my contract, there is a requirement for me to get relocation approval, other...

Oh and just to clarify, I didn’t have to do anything to the existing bus stop, PTV just put a cover on the existing pole to say this stop is temporarily closed.

I’m building with Metricon, but I spoke with Carter Grange and Porter Davis as well, all of them are willing to build if you can get the bus stop relocated. Because the nature strip on my street is very narrow, the hard stand required is pretty small too (40cm x 3m), so I just did it my self. Materi...

I had the same issue with a bus stop zone in front of my knockdown rebuild (Bayside council). I went through the whole process myself instead of going through the builder (they charge $$$ and you need to do much of the work anyway) so I know the process pretty well. Because there is no chance you ca...

Congrats on the site start, really like your floor plan change. I'm building the Hampshire as well, just waiting for my building permit so hopefully not too long to go. Where abouts are you building if you don't mind me asking?

JXYL below were my costs. I did not opt for the curved headlight.(did not ask as if I did, I probably would have rationalised it and opted in) I did however double up on the doors/handles as the upstairs doors needed to match. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/76365_1547893588.jpg Thanks Stanus. Hi Stanus: If you don't mind me asking, how much was your Hume Matisse Double Front Door and door handles? I got quoted $9800 for the double front door, which is on top of the $1030 upgrade to the door Frame. Then $2950 for the handles and $2500 for the curve head highlight. So $16k for the front d...

Thanks Stanus, I think it's a worthy investment too. Hope your build coped well in today's rain. The terracotta roof tiles were 6700 dollar upgrade from the original display home concrete roof tiles. It was worth it as concrete roof tiles do not have the same warranty 10 years vs 25 to 30 years on t...

Perfect timing for the roof. Do you minding sharing the cost of terracotta roof upgrade? I'm going for my studio M selection next month and couldn't find any info on roof upgrade.

Agree, it will be a very solid floor and great for sound insulation. Another question on your windows and stacker door, I noticed you changed most of them to timber, is there a reason why you chose that over aluminum 300 series? I'm think about doing the opposite as I think timber deteriorate much ...

wow, your build is going really well. I thought about the hebel power floor as well but was under the impression that it's going to further add to the overall building height and side setback for my council, but looking at the picture it's not that much of a difference. Do you know how much higher d...

Congrats on signing with M @JXYL - I am looking forward to watching your build progress. @Renman 's house is stunning, so I am sure yours will come up just as beautifully. Great to see another M build in Melbourne going up :) Thanks Shokel1975. Renman has indeed set the bar very high :)

Congratulations! I will be following your build. Sucks about the overshadow. My council had no issue with that. A tip with tile selection. Windows in the wet areas can have tile reveals. Like the displays. It only cost an extra grand but makes the floor to ceiling tiles finish neater. Also are you ...

Did you consider the Bordeaux? Yes I did, and I considered many other designs, but it always comes back to our council's design overlay, basically the first floor side walls need to have a setback to prevent overshadowing. So that rules out 90% of the designs out there, unless you are willing to go...

Hi Everyone: Finally paid deposit to Metricon to build the Hampshire 46 (it's a Bayside special edition designed to cater the stringent council design requirements). I want to begin by saying that this forum has been a great resource for me as I've learnt so much from everyone. I'm usually a serial ...
