Sorry to bring up old news, but you're literally the only person I can find that has had to deal with Moonee Valley council and the WSUD requirements. Would love some advice/direction! We're in the same boat as you were with WSUD and raingardens (we know nothing, the builder knows nothing). We've be...

We're looking at their Bespoke builds (http://bespoke.ardenhomes.com.au/). From what we've gathered so far it's pretty close to dealing with a building designer and then having them build it. Their "starter" floorplan is based on the Toulouse and then you work with them to customise it. 43...

8 years ago, my wife and I built our home out west with Urbanedge homes. Since then, two kids have arrived, work has changed, life has changed (the suburb also hasn't turned out to be quite the dream location we thought it'd be) and so we're starting this madness all over again! Our last build is he...

Thanks! :) I contacted the Law firm, and pointed out that guideline 5 made no mention of letterboxes, nor building materials. He said he'd call me back after speaking to the developer. He then called me back a little while later (lovely guy btw) saying that the developer had now referred him to guid...

I'm one of the few people living in Manhattan Place at the moment. Nice spot... but bloody windy!! :) We paid $143k for our block. As far as fencing goes, I won't tell you who I used, but I will say: The neighbours down the road down used U Need A Fence. - Looks terrible. Poor timber, poor finish. A...

Ours was through a mob called Mango which was in a Home maker centre in Hoppers Crossing (same store front as a Dare Gallery and a tile store). I don't know if they use anyone else, or just because that is near where we were building. We found the choice during colour selection fairly limited. Howev...

The shelf price was pretty high. I'd have to dig out the numbers though. I think $220k off the top of my head. But when we built they had all the extras included in that price that others charge for (everything from stone benches and carpet through to flyscreens and downlights throughout). In the en...

Yes, Toast and Fringe dwelles. Your positive comments also helps us in choosing UE. Hopefully, by the time we are starting to build (probably around March or April when title is alread issued) they had already resolved their poor communications problem. I've seen your kitchen tops Toast. Did you pu...

HI! I haven't been around here for a while (no phone or internet in our estate yet and i work from home...handy!). But just wanted to say hi! We've been in our Larne for a while now, and we're still very happy overall. Our neighbours two houses down the street aren't so happy though. They built the ...

It's some sort of mobile phone sort of arrangement. I'm not sure on the technicalities, but I do know that it doesn't support data. So I'm guessing it's a satellite phone or something.... not to sure :?

The problem with any form of ADSL is it requires a phone line. We don't actually have a phone connection...as in, our house is not physically connected to the telephone network. So no naked DSL either. That's the good thing about my estate is that it has Optic Fibre to the Home. So you don't need a...

Well after a fairly terse email sent yesterday, we've gotten a call back today. No explanation why the technician didn't turn up on Tuesday. ($15 compensation for a missed appointment there at least :P :P) What they're now telling us is that they did testing, something failed...so now they have to f...

This doesn't help but do you know for sure that ADSL will be available in your area? Because if it is like many other estates you may find that there are no ADSL ports available anyway. It may pay to try and find out in advance (this is hard without a phone number but you could use a neighbours if ...

We were sent a letter on the 26th September letting us know that there would be a delay getting our phone connected at our new place. At that stage, our neighbours across the way (KarenB from these forums) had already been moved in for several weeks. It's now 2 months later, and we STILL do not have...

During the build we had several comments from our SS about our blog. We had a lot of good things to say about him and the build, and as a result he went the extra mile to look after us. He was happy, his boss was happy and we were happy. We get hundreds of people coming to our blog searching for Urb...

I'm amazed that fencing contractors can't get boundaries right. Isn't that a pretty important part of their job? I'm having a battle about the same thing at the moment - not the style of fence, that's fine, just the location. Fencers (in their defence..no pun intended), are not qualified surveyers....
