We have lined up a concrete to concrete the driveway/skirts and 2.4m from the back of our house where we have a large stacked door and plan to have an outdoor living space in the future. Our original plan was to tile this space and put in a pergola - the concreter has suggested just not “exposing” ...

I know the gold standard is to go for inside fitted honeycomb blinds for energy efficiency - but in the interests of budget we are looking at standard sizes, which means that they would have to be fit on the outside of our architraves. Obviously this this make them less efficient energy-wise, but ho...

You cannot really stain MDF as I cannot imagine it looking too crash hot. But you could certainly paint them. Just make sure their painted with some traffic able and ideally slip resistant. Good luck. Thanks 😊
Thanks 😊

Can you stain them and then seal them? Paint them and seal them? Anyone done something similar and can give guidance or...

Hi. I can’t speak to that house design, but before we settled on our current design we looked at the Liverpool 25 which has a similar alfresco. With that design we were quoted as saving around $200 (I think) with making it an internal living space. This didn’t take into account any additional floori...

We are building a two story in Geelong VIC. Due to kids/dogs we want to use vinyl planks and originally we wanted to carpet the stairs and the first story (games room and four bedrooms) so we opted for plain MDF stairs and planned to do them in carpet too. Now we have started the build we are rethin...

I know when we were starting figuring out what we were looking at (vs what we could afford of course!), seeing what other people had spent really helped us in our budgeting. At a high level, I wanted to share some of our info, in case if can help anyone else. All pricing is for the Charlton 28 (Adva...

Hi. We are building with PD. Not sure where you’ve gotten up to but thought I’d share. We originally looked at the Liverpool 25 but due to our block have ended up going with a double (Charlton 28). I would def do both driveway and blinds after handover - you’ll save heaps that way. Also being a sing...

Cooling question: We are looking at a 2 story house in and I like the idea of either all evap cooling or a combo of evap and split systems. Can I ask what other people have done and also an idea of cost? - I know there is variation based on the house/builder but a rough idea is always helpful. I’ve ...

So while we all know different builders have different lower catagory ranges I thought a great way to help people earlier in their build journey might be to share pictures/details of your kitchens and bathrooms with minimal upgrades. I’d find this super useful and know others would too. If you’ve go...

Hi all, Wondering if we can get your help. We are looking at buying our first home in the Geelong Region and have narrowed it down to these two designs. We are looking at a 16x32 lot and after pouring over many designs these are 100% our favourites. The problem is comparing pricing! I’ve managed to ...
