Had mdf stairs for 15 years with no trouble, its actually more stable than real wood, if stairs are carpet, then no brainer, its mdf, you can get some really good mdf today, in my new home we went Victorian ash as no carpet, after 3 years, no trouble, key is a quality job no matter what you choose,...

Any opinions on MDF stair. As MDF is not water proof, i’m a bit worried about the strength in long run. Thanks.
