Before you buy in Success, I recommend you try driving on Beeliar Dr on a weekend afternoon going eastbound (i.e. towards the freeway) - it is an absolute nightmare which I would want no part of! Ever since they built the government housing apartments around the shops, the crime rate has noticeably ...

Yeah the Lounge & Living back-to-back struck me as weird - I can't think of a single display home with that kind of layout as soon as you walk in the door. You say you have been working with a builder... what exactly are they doing for you?

I think everyone above has more than covered the issues with the layout, but there are also a few practical considerations you should allow for: The first is whether this is going to be your forever home or if you think you'll be selling it in 10-15 years. If it's going to be your forever home, then...

Some initial observations: - As soon as you open the door in Bed 1 it blocks the door to the toilet - There is no door to the pantry? - You have a random door which leads to nowhere behind the couch (I would just remove that wall altogether) - The kitchen feels tucked away in the corner - The garage...

I've intentionally steered clear from integrated dishwashers, worried about what happens if there are issues or changing it later down the track. Easy as to switch out a freestanding one, but an integrated one seems it'd require more effort to do so?

Very envious of your garage opening! Ours is only 5.05m which is looking like it may be a tight squeeze for our slightly wider than usual cars...

What do you mean by Preliminary Works? As in the site works have already begun or is everything still on paper (i.e. drawings, council approval etc.)?

9 months between drafting and site works isn't too bad... ours took around 11 and we already owned the block (had no issues with council either)! The most important part is getting it right - if it takes a few extra months, it'll all be worth it in the end. But you're right, it does normally shoot u...

Plan looks great! Just make sure you get it re-priced before signing as they've given you over 50m2 of extra house from the original plan (which I assume was priced?) to what you have now; definitely not cheap when most of it is on the upper floor :)

Hi Everyone, New to this site so sorry if this is in the wrong place! We are looking to demolish and build in Perth, WA. We have narrowed down the builders to three - RedInk, Ventura, and Summit. Which one is considered the best? We especially like Redlink the most at the moment. We would like to h...

Hi HereForHelp, We understand why you'd raise the ACCC report for consideration when discussing 101 Residential, because the undertaking was spun (by both the ACCC and the media) to make it look like we had been manipulating reviews, or gagging clients from posting negative reviews. I've read the c...

Not really a great sign when a builder does this... http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/accc-forces-perth-builder-to-stop-gagging-bad-online-reviews-20171215-h05l2x.html Their latest Google reviews wouldn't exactly inspire confidence either!

I’ve been told if I take a custom design to a project builder, like Ventura, there will be extra costs. I would be shocked if any builder in Perth charged you "extra costs" for bringing your own plans to get a quote. As long as you have a copy of the site survey and an Engineers report, t...
