If you're on Facebook, there is a Building with MJH page. It's very active with dozens of posts each day. Anyone building with MJH should head over there if they're on facebook.

Supercharger, we’ve built 4 homes, and rented a brand new MDJ home last year, as i said above it was 12 months and all the maintenance work was still not done. The painting was appalling, however, the standard response was its within tolerances, if it was my home, I wouldn’t have been happy. Check ...
Not denying there can't be issues not every build is perfect, and when it comes to post handover maintenance I'm sure a...

@christopher_hemmy I have just checked the reviews of Mcdonald Jones Homes on the productreview website. I would be very cautious interpreting these in your research as most of the positive reviews posted there do not look genuine! There is also some quite interesting discussion about this topic in...
you can't just accept the bad reviews and question the good ones. Instead of relying on a google search best to actuall...

Thanks, I will confirm with the builder, but I get the feeling they want me to do it after handover so they can finish the construction quicker. So it's not for the right reasons. Hi Steve We are building with MacJones too but are just about to go on the construction list. My preferences would be: Colorbond roof all day - this should be at no extra charge We got MJH to do all the flooring otherwise they leave the skirting board in the garage and you have to install yourself. ...

Oh it's just a dji mavic pro fly more combo. Got it like 2 years back for like $1400? It should be cheaper now. The newer versions are quite a bit better. You'll need to connect it to your phone to control it with some of the models, including the mavic pro. Thanks for that Your house is coming alo...

Go 1.2m from the fence as pavers are usually 400mm. The 1.7m gap to the alfresco is plenty. You're going to be within the zone of influence with your sewer so expect extra costs to have it encased. Extra piering may be required around the alfresco. Best to check with your builder there. Go a triple g...

Depending on when your land is due to register it may be worth locking in the current house price now?

Hebel def has it's benefits - thermal and insulation properties as well as a better fire rating. A single storey home you could potentially finish in a couple of days negating the costs for extra labour and scaffolding if required. With Basix and BAL so prominent these days Hebel is a great alternat...

We are building a modified Edenvale with MJH and our land is only a couple of months away from registering. We locked in an 18 month tender price last March.Best thing we ever did as I'm sure the base price has gone up considerably in that time. If you are getting a 2 year tender included (or minima...

Is your land registered? Location of the water tank may not be up to you depending on the slope of the land. Hi, Thank you for your reply. No our land isn't registered yet. We have been given the choice of the location and that of course depends on where our easements are. The location of the water...

Thanks Mish, we also looked at a few of the Wisdom Home displays and they all looked amazing. We particularly liked the Manhattan display at Oran Park. We ended up deciding on the Chifley 37MKII but with some modifications and will hopefully be getting our plans to council soon. We liked that Rawso...

CDC has a list of criteria you must meet. If you fail anyone of these you will be forced to get DA approval via your local council. Off the top of my head: 3rd garage E4 zoning MInimum 450sq lot Floor space ratios (FSR) also come into play
