Hi there - did you end up finding a way forward to your issue? Which builder are you going with? We are also having trouble with site costs with a 3m fall on our stage 4 block.

Hi MacRock, our builder found some rock when they did the initial testing for our tender. There was a rock allowance of $5000 but hopefully it won’t be needed or worse more. We are on Mahoney Drive, where are you? Right at the bottom of Poulton terrace. $5k for rock sounds rather low - if you don't...

It really depends what you put in your tender and if it includes all the main upgrades you are after. After Rawson gave us our initial tender there were still upgrade costs for external and internal selections, electrical, tiles. You will also need to budget for landscaping too. thanks for that. I ...

Thanks guys for replying this helps me a lot. @coref1, may I ask you which builder you choose? New Living Homes, part of the Masterton Group. We got our estimate from NLH and looks decent. We're now being asked to pay 2.5k to get the plans drawn up but what I am missing is at which stage do they pr...

Thanks everyone who suggested builders. We have NLH a call and they are are looking into it. Will report back as to the outcome. He did mention the slope will make landscape expensive (yikes!) Anyone know of a local landscaper who is familiar with the area? Would be keen to get some estimate so we c...

Maybe it has something to do with wanting to build a GF behind our single storey main house. ANSA and Mojo both said no. Montgomery won't stand by their estimate even at 10%+/- so we are weary of putting $1500 on the line. We've already had to forfeit one tender fee of $1000 as the fixed price came ...

I recently got in touch with ANSA homes and spoke to Elya. What a nice guy but reading the online reviews I am a little concerned about build times (8 to 10 months apparently based on other online posts) - that is the longest build time I've come across! I'm also a little confused re the process of ...

Can anyone recommend a budget builder for our sloping block? Our site costs have blown out by 70k from the estimate to the paid tender. That can’t be right. We need a builder who knows the area but is at the lower end of the market. What ball park figure shall I be looking at for single story 4 bed ...
