The 50mm step down in the slab height is required in the NCC. This is to allow the tilers to get enough fall to a floor waste. So the cost of levelling out at the transition point should be bugger all.... I would level out every wet area except the laundry.

Hi all, I am starting to do a owner builder and have had the architect plans done and organised a private certifier. So far it has cost over $13K for all the plans engineer BASIX etc. My certifier says he needs the Owner/Builder permit to put on the NOI form but I cannot get the permit from fair tr...
You can get a owner builder certificate with a DA number... you don't need an approved DA.

That's BS... The drawings are a builds and certifiers guide as to how the structure is to be built to comply to the NCC....

Its better if it higher... it allows water to flow away... it also reduces the likelyhood of you or the landscaper build...
