Homebuyers will put add on refrigerated. We planned on getting solar after the build, so wanted as little gas as possible. So we removed the gas ducted from our package and got $2000 credit back. Then we got ducted split system after the build. Was about $10,000 for our 16 square house.

Sorry Eureka 22, just saw this message. I paid the progress payment, but then advised them to stop work until the issues are resolved.

I've now talked to another company that said I can easily do three zones 1. Living Area 2. Main Bedroom + Ensuite 3. Bedroom 2 + 3 All three zones can be run separate or at the same time. Also recommended a system called Advantage Air that would allow me to have each room as an independent zone and ...

Took some patience and some arguing, but most of our issues were sorted. Took about a month to get there. House is almost finished with completion being end of the month. Looking forward to this being behind us and getting into our house.

Hi, I've gone to three different companies for quotes and getting different information from each. House is currently building, so I sent a floor plan to all three. It's a 15 square property with three bedrooms and an open plan living area. Advised I'm happy with Mitsubishi, Fujitsu or Daikon. First...

Good news, we are being credited the money as a variation, so will come out of the final payment. Builder is fixing all issues on the pre-paint report, sending me photos of the fixed areas by the end of the week.

Trying to push for Homebuyers to reimburse the cost of the inspection as they came to me to organise it when the stage wasn't complete. I do think skirting and architraves at my place were installed for me after plaster. No joy. I discussed with Darbecca and they said that it was ok to have it done with moisture. As they had adhered to the increase in gap size, no moisture should hit the wood. So moved forward with the build. Had my pre-plaster inspection yesterday on request from the builder. Darbecca came out and ...

God damn it. Just when I got my hopes up. They replaced the studs yesterday to give the 25mm gap (yay), but then today they installed wall wrap between each stud. Not behind. I had even advised them not to do this as it wont protect the wood from moisture, yet they did it this way as it was quick an...

Ok, so I met with a friend that's a building inspector and we pushed them to install the sarking along the boundary wall. We found it was on the original plans, so we pushed the surveyor as they were also telling me it is want required. Also, they are not fixing the bow, but we compromised with them...

Met onsite and they are sending me paperwork detailing the alternate solutions as well as the document from the fire engineer giving the ok to the wall. The areas that they haven't fixed and basically told me they won't is the bowed brick wall. The building manager is telling me that 15mm is plenty ...

Thanks. I kept putting pressure on the surveyor and they are meeting onsite today to go over each item on the report in detail with the site manager. They were contracted by the builder and contract states that if I don't use them the builder will walk away. Had no idea at the time that it was again...

I did an onsite visit with my Site Supervisor and my Building Inspector. The inspector was less than impressed. I was told that all issues had been sorted, but once getting onsite only 3 issues were passed. The issue the inspector was most worried about was that the brickwork was meant to go higher ...

Update The regional manager advised all issues out of the 29 on the report were corrected. I paid for Darbecca to come back onsite at my own cost to reinspect. They passed 3 issues with 26 still outstanding. The inspector was incredibly unimpressed and told me that it's getting to the point where I ...

As you said, apart from building code violations, there can't be any proof without an engineer. What about the fact our house is on clay soil, with a waffle slab with mortar between my house and the houses next door due to sloppy workmanship. This means the houses don't have give to move after heavy...

If it was only minor things I wouldn't worry. Our inspector is basically saying that that both bricks walls along the side need to come down or we will end up with cracks all along the walls. We have overhang along an entire side. The builders have tried to cover it up by filling in the corners so y...

Hi guys, I'm new here and just need some advice. We are currently building with homebuyers centre and have Darbecca doing independent inspections. Slab stage went smoothly with only minor issues.
