Thanks for the advice guys, will head down to the local nursery this weekend :) What turf did you use and why, appreciate you share your preference. We have to do landscaping soon. I haven't done the turf yet, that will be last, but will be using Sir Walter Buffalo. I have this in the front and it'...

Hi Guys, I'm currently in the process of doing the landscaping for my backyard. Fairly basic design, a rectangle shape that is 9m long by 5.7m wide, with a 0.5m garden bed along the perimeter and turf in the centre. I'm sorted for turf, but not sure what plants to use in the garden bed. I'm after ma...

Hi Guys, I painted a feature wall in my house with Dulux Concrete Effect and was quite happy with the result. I then sealed it with Bergers Jet Dry Stone and Paving Sealer in natural finish and it looks horrible. The sealer bubbled up and left a crappy glossy finish over the surface - not what I wan...

On a related topic, I've been told by a colleague that his builder prohibits independent stage inspections. Apparently its written into this contract. Surely this can't be legal? Builder is Allworth homes. No idea if it's legal or not, but this does not surprise me. Building contracts are heavily b...

Which builder is this? It's the first I've heard of it. Mimosa homes. It’s a new ‘administration free’ according to them and because they are a ‘volume builder’ they cannot alter the contract.... yeah sure.... I built with Mimosa. This must be something they only introduced recently, as I was allow...

Hi Guys, Just wondering if someone could offer some assistance. I just got the keys to my new house last Thursday and went in over the weekend to clean as the builder's didn't really do much of a clean. I have tiled shower bases in both my bathrooms, and my ensuite shower base had some spilt residue...

Hi All, Wondering if someone can assist. When I chose my colours for my new house, I wanted a timber stained door to match with the timber parts of my facade and my timber-look garage door. The door used doesn't really have a grain pattern to it, so when they stained it, it just looks like a brown ...

they attempted to rectify by re-tiling the whole lot straight over the top AGAIN. I actually can't believe I'm back to square one. Talk about being stressed out!

so the tiler ended up grouting over the top of the wrong grout with the correct colour. I brought this up with the building manager as it was obvious this was done due to the fact that the old grout was still visible around the powerpoints and there was now inconsistency in the grout lines due to go...

Yeah tell me about it. Only thing I can think of is if they've rectified it between the time I saw it and now. Some of the guys doing these jobs just don't care or aren't legit tradesmen.

Thanks mate. Had a response from my site supervisor today. He said he went to the house to have a look and compared the sample and said 'it looks the same', lol. I bluntly said 'no it's not'. We're now meeting on Monday to discuss. This is stressful.

Hi Guys, Just an update on this, the builder agreed to re-do the entire splashback, so they ripped it down, re-plastered that section and re-tiled it. Problem is that the grout is now the wrong colour! I mentioned this to my supervisor and he said it came out of the same bag, I said I'm not sure how...

Not sure would have to check. Does ducted heating have a return air vent at all? Could also be for that and I may have mistaken it for the evap. I've told them I want it moved, just waiting to hear back.

Yeah I know how evap works and I was confused when I saw it as well, but all the display homes had a return air vent as well (with evap), so I just assumed it's normal. Either way, it's a return air vent, lol.
