We are speaking with our solicitor today. I will let you know how we proceed. I doubt you will be able to get Clarendon to budge on the retaining walls issue. I had the same clause in my contract and it didn't faze me because I'm building on newly registered land with no retaining walls. Perhaps yo...

So my plans are currently with CDC, and I've just been told by Clarendon that the facade we have chosen does not comply with some CDC regulations, and some amendments have to be made which include a new roofline and an extra pier to the front of the garage. I second bumblebee - I write down everything that occurs on telephone or face to face meetings (even though I'm not at construction stage yet) and this has already proven useful when I had a huge argument with Clarendon as to the removal of certain nib walls and issues with credits. With contemporan...

I am very amused with Clarendon - I got a house and land package with them. My land has not settled (we were just informed that the land was registered with LPI late last week) and I do not even know what the address of my registered land is, but guess what, I got an email from Clarendon today prese...

For those that are in a double storey build, are you able to take a pic of the 2nd storey ceiling finish for me if possible? We've got issues with the way our gyprock is finished - you can see every join across the entire ceiling whereas in the display homes they aren't visible and in other builds ...

Hi guys, We are building the Killara 28 with a gazillion changes to every part. Bought land separately. So we've gone to the bank with our tender to get a valuation done in order to see if the bank can service our construction loan. The Valuers came back say they need the building plans to do a val...

Thanks all - the below is what I'm talking about. It looks like they are adding a lot of items, but really it's just to shift the laundry from the right side of the house to the left, and splitting the theatre room in half for the WIP and laundry. Things like "provide living" or "prov...

Anyone had any problems with Clarendon refusing to provide a breakdown of certain cost items in their contract? What did you do? We have an item which provides for the shifting of our laundry and home theatre and a reduction of sizes etc. Clarendon is now refusing to provide us with a breakdown of t...

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest Clarendon and the Wisdom design are similar in size and layout. Plus their finishes meet our requirements so price is going to come into play. I'm sitting down with both builders in the next week to discuss it all in detail. I hope Wisdom can come to the party ...

Another question, for those of you in the know... Our Private Inspector noticed that the ceilings of our ground floor are already at 2600mm before gyprock and floor coverings, and to ask for comment from our builder. When we spoke to the SS, he said he doesn't know why they would even check that an...
I think it makes sense that they quote 2600mm measured to the unfinished floors, mainly because the difference between ...
