Since I got no replies, I'll add some info I found to help others... The trencher I hired did not do straight runs due to one tyre being worn, so I opted to use what is called 1" Low Density Poly pipe as it bends around corners and is forgiving if people stand or drive on the popups. Using arti...

Re room size, at least 3m by 3m is good so you can move a queen bed around and still have room at the end. Smaller and it limits bed choice or location of bed in room. Bigger if no built in robes. The build looks good they did a good job boxing up the slab edges from what I can see. Build moves very...

Not enough room in that garden bed for hydrangea as they grow 1m high by 2m wide easy each year if trimmed back to a stump. Edit: found dwarf ones do exist, quote..... Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Pia Mina’ has pink flowers and grows to 60cm (24″) high.

Organic matter is like a sponge. Takes heaps of water to get the water down deep iF It is dry AND ages to dry out if it is wet. If you have damp ground then stop watering you don't need more. I don't believe u can have too much organic matter so long as it has had time to compost down and stop produ...

Thanks for the photos and the info, look forward to seeing it progress. If you can add details like how deep footings are under retaining walls and beds that would be helpful as we are going to be doing this in six months

Curling leaves means not enough REGULAR water. Your in a pot so this means it will dry out far easier than a plant in the ground. Use rock dust add some compost and then mulch. The compost and mulch will help with the watering. Citrus have shallow roots so don't dig compost in. Also watch for light ...

Thanks I think the poison is needed. The cardboard may work for most grasses but after three months the couch is still stealing nutrients from under the cardboard with long runners.

I have some couch grass that has grown quite well under some trees and I need some advice on the best way to kill the couch without killing the trees. Some of the trees are fruiting and will go dormant in winter (so will the grass) so can I spray those parts safely when the tree has lost its leaves?...

I've heard Autumn is a good time, but we're only at the very start and can still get some hot days. Am I best to wait a few more weeks or is it OK now? I'm in no great rush - just want to do it right. Thanks Autumn is best for people who are lazy and never water after planting new gardens, if that ...

Limeburner : Yeah the chooks are good. Just the usual they eat food, poop and go clucky so we get no eggs in return for months on end :) FU: Thanks for the reply, so that means I need to build a compost pile and source more green materials as I currently throw all my green material to the chooks to...

Hi All, Looking for feedback on how others use their chicken manure for Veggie growing and also if they bother to also compost when they own chickens or if they just throw all scraps to chooks? Recently I have been making chicken manure tea and leaving it to soak for 2+days and then watering it down...
