Hi, my neighbours are building and there is an elevated alfresco area on ground level over a basement alfresco level (2 storey alfresco) However, due to the sloping block, the second level is over 2m above ground level and within 6m of the side and back boundaries. Am I reading the SEPP correctly t...

I am currently building. My private building inspector has noted that the fall to waste in one of the showers is inadequate. The builder has refute that charge and is willing to put in writing that the fall has been checked and is fine. I checked the levels with a spirit level. 2 out of 4 corners se...

Thanks for your advice. Builder has not given permission to communicate with the aircon contractor directly - I think they are concerned I will strike a deal directly? I'm not sure. It is always easier to install it during the build, and the builder will not allow another contracter into site before...

Thanks for the input on internal selections. It was very hard during the contract stage as very little pricing was disclosed. I had a few of PA (some formally written in contract tender and some via email correspondence), including an extra linen cupboard and aircon upgrade from classic to ESP plus....

We are getting ducted aircon through our builder as we thought it was too hard to do post-handover. However, difficulties getting a good aircon design through our builder is starting to prove my initial decision wrong. Firstly, we are not allowed direct communication with the aircon subcontractor. S...

Hi Duke 145. I have just had my CDC approved and will be doing internals and electricals soon as well. Seems like we are at similar stages. =)

Hi all. Fairly new to the thread. We are up to contract stage - we actually have an appointment later this week. However, DH is getting increasingly unhappy with them as we are getting some attitude coming close to contract stage. 1) We asked for a tender expiry extension when we were told Provincia...

Doing a new build and have Fisher and Paykel dish drawers included as part of the package. I personally prefer the normal dishwashers as I have been getting mixed feedback about the dishdrawers and I prefer the bigger space in dishwashers for larger pots and pans. However, I will be 'shortchanged' i...
