Hey Jaya, just saw your post. Sorry to hear your have experienced so many difficulties. It really takes the joy out of building and adds so much stress. I worked in the industry briefly and in a lot of ways it's still a boys club especially at the supervisor/ manager level. Hopefully that is slowly...

I would like to buy a ready house [emoji536] too much emotional attachment and then you don’t get your house on time Hahahaha... I don't have emotional attachments to houses, not even this new one! Then again, I'm ASD... I'd leave it tomorrow and not look back if I had to. I want to move in for the...

Af!ter being 'smugly' chuckled at again, over the phone this afternoon, I take back what I said about using F0rm@t homes for the next build at our investment property. Quality is really good, but I think we can do better. I sent them an email saying 'URGENT ANSWER REQUIRED', at nine this morning. Wa...

I would build again, however only to lock up, and then do the rest. There's days and days in a project build, where no-one shows up. That doesn't happen, when you organize trades yourself. My parents were owner builders, and I had a lot to do with that, so I can paint and tile myself, do waterproof...

I would be interested to know, too - I've just been looking it up! soooo bump! I actually think the Zego channels, would be better, on first glance... however if anyone knows, that would be great. Did you end up deciding on one?

Hi Chipstik, Benji is correct, I've just looked at my quote, and the whirly bird was around 100, and the installation the same... I had one included whirly bird, as well. I'd say it's easier to go to a roofing place and have the whirlies put in after - much cheaper! Unless you are handy, and can diy...

Feeling better. Finally cleared my paperwork out. Building a house generates so much paper!! Contracts, and loan statements.. but when you move in, the builder gave me a massive pack, and then there was all the instructions and warranties.. and then piles of receipts for my new purchases. I was dro...

Hello, The reason for the house failing basix would be because it was post July. If you have a building contract dated before December this year you can apply for pre July basix requirements. The basix requirements after July are beyond ridiculous. As for the solar... Organise that yourself. You ca...
Oh, I read 5kw, not 1.5... yes, that's super high pricing.

If you can't change builder at this stage, I'd suggest getting them to do it to lockup, with plastering, wiring etc, and getting your own contractors for everything else. There will also be a significant time saving, as well as cost saving... they'll probably charge you for when they don't show up, ...

Maybe you want to get a lawyer to ask them to justify the costs. I'd certainly take a look at these awards... are they given by the industry, for the industry? In that case, they mean nothing... I can give myself an Oscar everyday... it just means it was their turn that year. I'd have had alarm bell...

Have you thought of pairing Jasper roof with Dune fascias, gutters and window frames, and having the terrain as a statement on the garage? Dune would probably go better on your interior colour scheme, when viewed from inside. And also with the grey mortar. Have you used the 'Colorbond visualiser' ? ...

Hey guys. Sorry I have a bit slack with the updates. Haven't taken any pics of late as not much to show. The foil wrapping has gone on, plumbing rough in done and window heights adjusted. Still waiting for the brickie who should be starting this week 🤞🏻 Apparently they are in very short supply and ...

That is NOT good enough - looks like an apprentice did that on his first day - I wouldn't accept it. Tell your inspector your especial concerns with the brick. They'll pay very close attention.

It sounds like you have a heap of different colours going on... I'd be thinking about keeping the Jasper (Monument has been done to death in my honest opinion), and having Jasper in the window frames and fascias as well, if they can do that colour? I'd leave out the paperbark, myself, unless you wan...

We had that issue with grass and sand when we lived in South Coast NSW. Having no money at the time, I bought two trailerfulls of a decent fine mulch that had compost in it - chucked it all over and raked it around. The grass came through and went like a dream, it got all green and lush. Worth a sho...

Who the heck are these #@$%$#&%$#? Walk away now if you can - if you lose a couple of thousand deposit now, that's way better than losing upwards of 20 thou on charges for nothing. They are totally taking you for a ride... if you go with any builder, it's probably cheaper to have the rocks and t...

It sorta works out ok, as the blinds will be ready, and trades available...just annoying, as Format said they would lay a slab before last xmas, then it was 'in the new year', then it was mid march in the finish! It should have been done by now. I'm easy going, but not THAT easy going. I'm starting ...
