We've left 140mm gap between the tops of the upper kitchen cabinets and the ceiling so we can box it in. Good point Beazley and ica - the exterior door in the kitchen is a narrow one as is to be only 620mm wide, I guess it will look pretty silly if it is extra tall. Then again, it is right next to the kitchen windows which we want to make 2400 high. Maybe this will look odd too? What to do...

We've decided to go 2700mm ceilings at the last minute, and we're definitely having 2340mm high sliding doors along the front of the house (where the view is). Kitchen windows will also be at 2340.
