We have downlights in our insulated roof and they hardwire them in (cut off the standard power cord) as the have the transformer in the back of the light. We also have a fan without an issues, just make sure he doesn't fix straight to the bottom of the ceiling and instead runs threaded rod all the w...

I would be going with insulated roof. The single skin patio roof is too hot in summer as you only have thin steel stopping the radiant heat from coming through. Regardless of what they say about the paint, its not going to provide any thermal help. We had http://www.instylepatios.com.au replace our ...

Hi, If you are building the deck first generally run the posts up for the patio and incorporate these as part of the deck. It will all depend on a couple of things, 1. How long until you want the patio built? 2. What type of posts are you using? 3. Are you putting any balustrade around the deck?

The person who suggested the first option has no idea and would lead to a visual bad and hydraulically bad design. The suggested Stratco method is exactly right. I would stay well clear of the first suggestion!

Flyovers like the ones here http://www.instylepatios.com.au/flyover-or-raised.html won't maximise the light but will give good ventilation. Have you considered the Stratco Sunroof like the one here http://www.instylepatios.com.au/sunroof-opening-roof.html As someone mentioned they are not 100% water...
