My understanding of "OP" is original poster, which I believe is yourself so I am not sure what the confusion is here. I think the Denon can be bi-amped so you are able to run significantly larger fronts if you so wish. If you really want to get fancy, a pair of Studio 100's would sound pre...

I am also keen on the Monitor 11's, but the OP gave a budget. Also, wouldn't the Denon be a little under specked power wise for the Monitor 11's? Hey Rodda, I think we should chat about a small com here? ::wink::

Hi Bigred. As I am a Paradigm fan, I would recommend the Monitor 9's, or you could look at the Monitor Audio RX6's. http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/products/silver-rx/rx6/your-speaker http://www.paradigm.com/en/paradigm/fronts-monitor-monitor9-model-2-4-1-18.paradigm Cheers Gareth

You could also look at the Paradigm AMS-100RX or AMS-150RX. These speakers would require power from your study.

Hi Rod Thanks for the reply. I have tried to learn my STB codes with the MCE remote (the one I got with my MCE2005 system) I haven't tried anything other tinkering around to get this to work. Thanks for the link, I will read through it and report back Cheers Gareth

Howdy I have a very strange problem and have yet received an answer. Here in RSA we have pay DSTV via multichoice (the equivalent of Foxtel I think) The problem is that I cannot get MCE (windows 7 64bit ultimate) to change my the channels on my stb. I have the hex codes for the stb remote. It is a d...

HI Rod.... good to chat again, it's been a while. My advise was based on the budget, although this is a bit difficult as I don't know what AV equipment sells for in Aus. I also like the Monitor 11 as they will offer a better base over the 9's. The 11's drivers are 7.5" as apposed to 6.5" o...

I don't know how your STB output HD, but here in RSA if you want to distribute HD via the STB (we don't get FTA HD) we would use an HDMI to CAT5 convertor and distribute like that. You have a distance limitation for running HDMI cables (I think it's 15m) I don't know if that would work in your appli...

Hi. For the budget around 6k I would look at the following. I am from South Africa so a quick exchange rate conversion and we get to a similar figure. Yamaha RX-V2065 Paradigm Monitor 9 fronts Paradigm CC290 centre channel ADP 390 surrounds Paradigm Ultracube 10 (or 12) Allow for cabling and connect...

Hi Matt and Rodda Long time no speak. We chatted a few years back and at that stage I was in the throws of designing and building a house and you guys assisted me with some ideas. Yip, I came over to Aus and spent to weeks with my sister and bro in law in Brisbane. It was really great and am keen to go back again. This time I have promised to take my wife and kids with me. We are still in the planning stage. The local council here is taking so long for approval, but it seems ...
