Hi We are at the stage where we are attending our tiling, flooring, kitchen, stairs etc appointments and have found that we are generally required to sign on the spot but then after we think about it we want to change our choices. Generally, we have been able to without much fanfare. Just wondering...

Hi All, We have been in our new home for a year now and couldn't be happier with the house. The plus side is the quality is very good, we have had no major issues with the build, the house hasn't moved , settled or cracked etc. There have been some issues with the Solar hot water but that's down to ...

Hi Everyone I thought I'd drop by to give an update. We moved out of the old Ice Palace in Jan 2016 and moved in to the the Villina Lane this week. Absolutely everything took twice as long as quoted. The build was 18 months, council 3 months, demo of the old house 2 months and after we got keys the...

Hi SK, we are in the process of finalising our tender with Masterton for a build in Sutherland as well. As you've recently gone through the process and you seem to have loads of detailed info would you mind having a chat with us about your experience? We have opted for Mansion Package + Yes Package...

Hi Buildinsydney, M require the site to be clear of all building materials, vegetation and grass. They want a bare patch of dirt to work on. Part of the DA for demolition is to have a private certifier check the land after demo. Ours found small amounts of asbestos on top of the soil (not surprising...

Buildinsydney, it's just the luck of the draw and a lot is due to the competence of the Site Supervisor you get. Our first SS was good but had too many builds to run & then took over the Area Managers job. The next SS was useless , he signed off on the brickwork being completed when there was a ...

Question. We just did our flooring appointment with M. We picked the Prime Luxury Laminate flooring over the standard bamboo but it was a 10k quote. Does M provide a credit for not using the standard or does that $10k quote from the flooring guys take into account the upgrade/credit? Any 'upgrade' ...
Any 'upgrade' quote already allows for deleting the standard inclusions. It pays to shop around for flooring.

Buildinsydney , you could investigate a multi-room split system, but I don't see the advantage over a ducted system. In split system every room needs a head unit mounted on the wall, ducted has a small discreet duct in the ceiling. If you really want zone control temperature then ducted can do that ...

Hi Buildinsydney, We went with Actron http://www.actronair.com.au, they manufacture in Australia and have a good range. 5 - 6 zones is quite a lot. Hi I had the tender from M. My land is sloping towards the front so M told me that there is no Hydraulics requirements such as pit or major stuff.
